Job Summary
The iability Claims Adjuster is responsible for the investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and resolution of assigned Auto Liability and General Liability claims , including bodily injury, premises liability, slip and fall, and product liability exposures . This role manages claims from assignment through final resolution while ensuring compliance with Corporate Claim Standards, client-specific handling instructions, and applicable state laws.
The successful candidate will handle a caseload across multiple jurisdictions and industries, including hospitality, entertainment, and transportation exposures. This position requires strong claim handling expertise, including liability analysis, injury evaluation, reserve management, litigation oversight, and direct negotiation with claimants, attorneys, and other interested parties.
Approximately 20% of claims may involve litigation exposure , making strong investigation, documentation, and litigation management skills important to success.
This is a client-facing role that requires outstanding communication skills, strong customer service, sound judgment, and the ability to independently manage a diverse liability claim inventory in a remote environment.
Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll manage your files independently while contributing to a collaborative, high‑performing team. What You’ll Do
- Investigate, evaluate, and adjust Auto Liability and General Liability claims from assignment through final resolution
- Handle bodily injury, premises liability, slip and fall, property damage, and product liability exposures
- Conduct liability investigations and analyze coverage, damages, and claim exposure
- Gather and evaluate witness statements, accident reports, photographs, medical records, contracts, and other supporting documentation
- Establish and maintain appropriate reserves based on claim development and exposure analysis
- Negotiate settlements with claimants, attorneys, and authorized representatives
- Manage attorney-represented and litigated claims throughout the claim lifecycle
- Coordinate with defense counsel, experts, and vendors as needed
- Identify and pursue subrogation opportunities when appropriate
- Maintain timely diary management and accurate claim documentation
- Prepare claim reports, reserve recommendations, and client communications
- Participate in claim reviews, client meetings, and file review presentations as needed
- Ensure compliance with Corporate Claim Standards and client-specific handling requirements
Qualifications
What You Bring
Required
- Active adjuster license in home state required (multi-state licensing preferred)
- Experience managing a multi-client desk and navigating varying client expectations
- 5+ years of multi-lin claims experience is required (Auto, Commerical Auto, GL, BI)
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and decision‑making skills
- Strong ability to handle diverse claim types and pivot
