You will join a department of around 70 people and contribute to the handover, refactoring and greenfield development of business applications. In this role, you will develop Java-based solutions that support business and analyst needs, while contributing across the full software development lifecycle: from design and implementation to testing, deployment and follow-up.
🛠️ Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain business applications.

- Contribute to the design of architectural components and technical building blocks in close collaboration with technical leads and software architects.

- Take part in technical working groups, Scrum ceremonies and, where needed, meetings with end users.

- Support testing, technical documentation, deployment, evaluation and reporting activities.

- Work in complex, integrated system landscapes and help analyse existing code to deliver effective solutions.

- Contribute to greenfield initiatives and support the evolution of existing applications.

- Coach or supervise junior team members when relevant.

📝 Your profile

You bring solid experience as a full-stack Java developer and can quickly become operational in an existing environment.

- Minimum 5 to 7 years of full-time professional experience in Java development; full-stack experience is preferred.

- Strong command of Java, with practical experience in the Spring Framework, including Spring Security and Spring Batch.

- Hands-on experience with JPA and Hibernate.

- Good knowledge of SOAP and RESTful web services.

- Experience with SOA, microservices and CQRS.

- Experience with test-driven development and testing tools such as JUnit and Mockito; familiarity with CI practices and tools is expected.

- Frontend and backend capabilities, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Angular.

- Good knowledge of build and delivery tools such as Maven and Jenkins.

- Familiarity with Docker, OpenShift, SVN or Git, development IDEs such as Eclipse or IntelliJ, Sonar, and application servers such as JBoss or Tomcat.

- Experience with relational databases and O/R mapping, including PostgreSQL and SQL Server.

- Able to read and understand BPMN, UML and technical documentation.

- Familiar with Jira and Confluence.

- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and continuous integration.

- Nice to have: knowledge of Talend, ZK, Oracle or Kafka.

- Problem-solving mindset, customer-oriented approach and the ability to integrate smoothly into an existing team.

Languages

- French or Dutch: active knowledge, including understanding, speaking, writing technical documentation and reading.

- English: active written knowledge and ability to communicate within the team.

💼 Offer

You will be part of a growing Belgian SME where initiative and personal development are encouraged. We will provide you with an enjoyable work environment with fun colleagues. We will work out a career plan with you, with attention and a budget for extra education/certification. You can count on an attractive salary, supplemented with extra-legal benefits, including a company car.
