Job Summary

The Industrial Maintenance and Operations Assessor will perform technical assessments, functional testing, and audits of material handling equipment (MHE), mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, and industrial facility infrastructure. This role will also conduct hands-on arc flash data gathering of electrical equipment and evaluate equipment condition, operational performance, and compliance with applicable industry standards.

The ideal candidate will possess experience with NFPA 70E requirements, Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) practices per NFPA and OSHA standards, and a strong understanding of industrial maintenance, operations, and engineering best practices. Candidates should have experience in one or more of the following disciplines: industrial electrical systems, industrial mechanical systems, industrial controls systems, or material handling equipment.

This role requires advanced technical knowledge of industrial equipment and building systems, the ability to evaluate complex equipment interactions, and the consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion. Success in this position requires strong analytical skills, technical communication abilities, attention to safety, and the ability to adapt assessment methodologies to varying project conditions while supporting safe and efficient project execution.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

- Performs comprehensive technical audits, field assessments, and condition evaluations of industrial equipment, including material handling systems, mechanical systems, electrical infrastructure, controls systems, and related facility components.

- Observes, tests, evaluates, and documents equipment operation and system performance to identify deficiencies, maintenance needs, operational concerns, and opportunities for improvement.

- Conducts assessments of major material handling and conveyance systems to verify installations align with design drawings, specifications, operational requirements, and industry standards.

- Maintains a Safety-First mindset and complies with OSHA requirements, Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) procedures, PPE requirements, site-specific safety protocols, and company safety standards.

- Performs electrical data collection, including arc flash information gathering, equipment identification, nameplate verification, electrical ratings, and system documentation.

- Evaluates electrical infrastructure and equipment up to 480 volts, applying knowledge of installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair practices, and safe operating procedures.

- Assesses industrial mechanical systems, equipment components, and operational processes to evaluate performance, reliability, and maintenance requirements.
