Salary Range: 326,000 yen ~ 358,500 yen

Shonan International school is located in Tsujido district in Fujisawa, caters towards students from Kindergarten to Middle School. We are committed to providing children with a bilingual education program with a strong commitment to Japanese language, culture, and curriculum while developing commitment to intercultural understanding.

General Description:
Primary responsibilities will include:

●Morning Homeroom
●Grade 1-4 Reading and Writing
●Grade 1-4 Math
●Grade 1-4 Units of Inquiry or Individual and Societies
●Attend to safety of students
●Willing to apply discipline consistent with the school’s social and emotional approach
●Assessments and Reports
●Outdoor Duty, Lunch Duty
●Environment class (once a month)

Prerequisites for Employment
1.Must have at least 4 years experience teaching Grade School students that provides specific subject learning
2.Willing to apply discipline consistent with the school’s social & emotional approach
3.Willing to learn and apply safety skills and classroom management based on the school’s method
4. Teaching License
5. The applicant will currently need to be in Japan (has essential working visa)

Summary of Essential Functions:
Teachers must:

1.Maintain open communication with students
2.Work collaboratively to achieve school goals
3.Use instructional methods and learning materials provided by the curriculum coordinator
4.Record and report student behavior
5.Attend to safety and health procedures to students
6.Participate in weekly Professional Development and Pedagogical Meeting (PD and Curriculum)
7.Lunch Duty and monitoring Outdoor Play, After School duty, Seasonal Programs (Summer, Winter, Autumn)

Working Conditions

1.Contractual Term: October 1st 2026 ~ March 31st, 2027 *contract may be renewed
(Probationary Period： 6 months, final evaluation will be on the 5th month
2.Days of Work: Monday ~ Friday
School Events: on Saturdays (there will lieu holiday, except twice a year)
3.Working hours: 8:15 to 16:15 (45 min break), once a week of professional development 16:30-18:00 *Single Subject teaching role may be provided with different hours
4. Salary: 326,000 yen ~ 358,500 yen (Benefit: Social Insurance, Labor Insurance, Pension)
5.Transportation Fee: Up to 20,000 yen per month
6.Holidays: Saturday, Sundays, National Holidays, Winter Break
7.Housing Allowance: 20,000 yen per month

3. Demo Class – applicants who advance beyond the interview stages may be asked to conduct a classroom demonstration to showcase instructional methods, classroom management, and student engagement.
