Brand M3dia is a Canadian technology company specializing in interactive kiosks, AI robots, digital signage, custom software, websites, and automation. We serve clients across Canada and the United States.

Approximately 80% of our past website work has been WordPress. We’re expanding into custom web applications and AI-powered solutions, and we’re looking for a developer who can support both.

THE ROLE

We need a hands-on developer who can handle front-end and back-end development, build polished Elementor websites, troubleshoot existing projects, and create custom functionality.

We encourage AI-assisted development and vibe coding. You must understand, test, debug, and maintain the code you deliver.

You’ll work with our project manager, designers, marketing team, and leadership to turn approved ideas into reliable websites and working tools.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Build and maintain WordPress websites using Elementor Pro and custom code.

• Turn approved designs into polished, responsive desktop, tablet, and mobile pages.

• Develop custom functionality using PHP, JavaScript, WordPress hooks, child themes, and plugins.

• Build landing pages, calculators, lead-capture tools, and simple web applications.

• Connect websites and forms to CRMs and other platforms through APIs and webhooks.

• Troubleshoot plugin conflicts, broken layouts, failed integrations, and performance issues.

• Manage staging sites, updates, backups, migrations, and deployment checks.

• Use AI tools to accelerate development, debugging, and documentation.

• Test your work and provide clear handover notes.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Strong WordPress and Elementor Pro experience.

• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.

• Experience building custom functionality beyond installing plugins.

• Working knowledge of MySQL and safe database operations.

• Experience with REST APIs, JSON, webhooks, and authentication.

• Git version control using GitHub or an equivalent platform.

• Understanding of responsive design, website performance, accessibility basics, and security.

• Experience with staging environments, backups, and rollback procedures.

• Practical experience with AI coding tools such as Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT, or equivalent tools.

• Clear English communication and strong troubleshooting skills.

You must be comfortable taking over existing websites and code, understanding how they work, and improving them.

BONUS SKILLS

• React, Next.js, or another modern front-end framework.

• Node.js or Python.

• Zoho CRM, AI APIs, or chatbot integrations.

• Technical SEO, analytics, and conversion tracking.

• Touchscreen interfaces or browser-based kiosk applications.

You do not need experience with every bonus tool.

HOW WE WORK

• Submit a short daily plan and keep your Basecamp tasks updated.

• Provide an end-of-day report with completed work, links or screenshots, remaining tasks, and blockers.

• Confirm requirements and realistic timelines before starting substantial work.

• Raise problems early, explain what you’ve tried, and recommend a next step.

• Follow through on outstanding tasks without repeated reminders.

• Test layouts, forms, integrations, and relevant error cases before marking work complete.

• Keep code and documentation organized in company-controlled accounts.

• Follow company rules for client data, credentials, and AI tools.

We value initiative, clear communication, and reliable follow-through. “Done” means the work functions, has been checked, and is ready for review.

REQUIRED VIDEO — 4–6 MINUTES

Record a simple introduction and screen-share video using Loom or a similar tool. No editing or polished presentation is needed. We want to understand your experience, how you think, and what you personally built.

Please answer these questions:

Tell us briefly about yourself, your development experience, and why this role interests you.

Show one WordPress project you’re proud of. What did you personally build, and which parts used Elementor versus custom code?

Describe a back-end feature or API integration you developed. What happened to the data after the user submitted or requested it?

Which AI coding tools do you use? Give one real example of how AI helped you and how you checked or corrected its output.

Describe a difficult bug you solved. How did you identify the cause and verify the fix?

If a task is blocked or likely to miss its deadline, how do you communicate that and keep the work moving?

SELECTION PROCESS

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to a live project walkthrough and a paid practical assessment.

AI tools are allowed during the assessment. You must be able to explain your code, demonstrate that it works, and make a small change live.
