Summary
Responsibilities

Keep Epic running smoothly for the clinics and patients who depend on it.

As an Epic Analyst - Ambulatory at Hummingbird, you’ll support the day-to-day health of the EpicCare Ambulatory application for one of our customers. You’ll spend your time diagnosing issues, building and testing changes, and working through project and upgrade work, using data, structured analysis, and system knowledge to turn business needs into reliable, well-documented solutions. Every ticket, build, and optimization is a chance to make care easier to access, and you’ll do it alongside a small, close-knit team that supports your growth.

This is a holistic, well-rounded analyst role rather than pure ticket work. You’ll touch orders, SmartTools, rules, Nova notes, and other ambulatory workflows, contribute to twice-yearly Epic upgrades, and take on optimization and project work as the customer identifies and prioritizes it. Because the team is small, you’ll have real ownership across a range of ambulatory functions and the autonomy to run with your work.
What You’ll Do

-
Diagnose reported issues by analyzing workflows and data, identifying root causes, and looking beyond the surface request to the underlying business need.

-
Gather and document requirements through stakeholder conversations, translating business needs into clear, testable requirements that align with standards and controls.

-
Build, test, and validate changes to EpicCare Ambulatory, including orders, SmartTools, rules, and Nova notes, to ensure they meet expectations without introducing regressions.

-
Execute changes through defined processes to maintain system compliance and auditability, documenting build decisions, test results, and final changes accurately.

-
Contribute to twice-yearly Epic upgrades, supporting testing, validation, and coordination through go-live.

-
Take on optimization and project work as identified and prioritized by the customer, growing into more complex projects over time.

-
Partner with stakeholders at the customer to understand operational context and priorities, and provide clear, timely updates on progress, risks, and impacts.

-
Deliver assigned work in line with SLAs, quality standards, and performance expectations, and support core client delivery activities as needed.

-
Identify opportunities to improve tools, processes, and documentation, and contribute to shared team knowledge.
