English-Speaking Preschool Teacher – Semi full-Time Contract

Job Description

As an English-speaking teacher at Figs International School, you will be an important part of our children's daily lives.

Figs is an English immersion preschool for children aged approximately 1.5 to 6 years old. Rather than simply teaching English lessons, you will spend the day interacting with children in English through play, activities, routines, and everyday communication.

Your main responsibilities will include:

Communicating with children in English throughout the day
Playing and interacting with children
Planning and leading fun English activities, games, songs, stories, crafts, and seasonal activities
Supporting children's daily routines, including meals, nap time, getting ready, and clean-up
Helping children develop their communication skills, confidence, independence, and social skills
Preparing classroom materials and activities
Supporting outdoor play and school events
Participating in seasonal events, special programs, and field trips
Working closely with Japanese and international teachers
Sharing ideas and cooperating with the team to create a safe and engaging learning environment
Supporting children's safety, wellbeing, and emotional development
Helping maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom

English is the main language used with the children. Japanese is not required.

We are looking for someone who enjoys being actively involved with children and is comfortable being part of their everyday routine—not someone who only wants to teach from the front of a classroom.

Every day is different, and creativity is encouraged! 🌿
