ALTIA CENTRAL is now accepting applications from all candidates to join our team of fantastic ALTs from April 2027 and beyond in cities and towns across Okayama Prefecture. While some positions may become available sooner, we ask that our overseas applicants please understand that due to COE and visa application processing times, it is unlikely we could consider you for them.

Since mid year positions can often open up at unexpected times, we are also looking to fill a few Standby positions. Standby ALTs need to be completely flexible in their preferences and ready to go into any location that might open up at anytime. Standby ALTs are paid full salary from the start, even if they are still waiting for their placement to open up. We supply normal training and accommodation as well during that interim period.

---About The Position---

▲ Full Time
▲ Yearly salary + annual bonus: ¥3,000,000 (Monthly ¥240,000)
▲ Positions may include: junior high, elementary schools and kindergarten
▲ Most positions will require driving
▲ Health Insurance: Shakai Hoken (includes health and pension)

Our contracts are largely based in central Japan, mostly in Aichi, Gifu, and Shizuoka prefectures; with a strong presence in Okayama and Hiroshima; a number of contracts in Shiga, Mie, Nagano, and Fukui; as well as a limited number of positions in Osaka, Kyoto and the greater Kansai area. If you are focused on going to Osaka and Osaka only, we will most likely not be able to help you out. Please note that we DO NOT have anything in the greater Tokyo Area.

---Instructor Visa Requirements---

To work as an ALT in Japan, overseas applicants must have the following to receive a valid Instructor Visa from Immigration through our company. Please note the following requirements:

▲ You must either be from a native English-speaking country OR have completed at least 12 years of education conducted in English. Note: Japan Immigration does not provide an official list of native English-speaking countries. Applicants are responsible for confirming whether their country qualifies.
▲ A 3 to 4-year Bachelor’s degree (or higher) is required.

---Key Qualifications---

▲ Engaging, enthusiastic, and dedicated to providing a positive communicative experience for teachers and students
▲ Flexible, sociable, culturally sensitive, and eager to live in Japan for a minimum of one year
▲ Previous teaching experience ranging from ALT to ESL tutoring within Japan required
▲ Intermediate level of Japanese preferred
▲ Previous time spent studying or working in Japan is appreciated but not required
▲ Most positions will require driving

▲ Additional Requirement: Child Safeguarding: As this position involves working with children, applicants must not have a record of a specified sexual offense (特定性犯罪) as defined under Japan's Child Sexual Violence Prevention Act. Successful applicants must cooperate with all required Nihonban DBS verification, child safeguarding training, and related safeguarding requirements.
