Email Marketer, Copywriter & Designer (Owned List, Conservative Audience, Affiliate Monetization)

We own a large customer list for one of our in-house brands. The audience skews conservative, patriotic, and 45+. They bought from us once and the list has barely been touched since. Your job is to turn it into a revenue channel: get deliverability right from the ground up, then build a steady email (and later SMS) program that sells our own products plus hand-picked affiliate and partner offers this audience already buys, like survival and preparedness, outdoor, health, and financial products.

This is not agency work on a client's store. You own one list, end to end: the strategy, the writing, the design, the sends, and the results.

What you will own

1. Deliverability from zero

- Audit and clean a list that hasn't been mailed in a long time: validation, removing bad and risky addresses, suppressing dead contacts

- Set up and verify sending domains and authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), plus a warm-up plan that starts with the most engaged contacts and scales up carefully

- Watch inbox placement, bounces, complaints and unsubscribes, and fix problems before they hurt the domain

- Re-engagement and sunset flows so the list stays healthy over time

2. Writing and designing every email

- Write the copy: subject lines, preview text, stories, offers. Our readers respond to plain, direct, trustworthy writing, not hype

- Design simple email s that load fast and look right on phones and on older email clients

- Keep one consistent brand voice and a steady sending calendar

3. Monetizing the list

- Find, test and rotate affiliate and partner offers that fit this audience (survival and preparedness, outdoor, health, financial, and other products for this age group)

- Build a mix of value email s and offer email s so the list stays loyal and profitable

- Track revenue per send and per subscriber by offer, and drop what doesn't earn

4. Growth and SMS (phase two)

- Welcome and nurture flows for new subscribers

- Launch SMS on the same list once email is healthy, following opt-in and quiet-hour rules

Must have

- 2+ years running email for a B2C list you were responsible for, where you can show the results

- Real deliverability experience: you've warmed a domain, cleaned a list, or fixed inbox placement yourself

- Experience mailing affiliate or third-party offers, and knowing which sending platforms allow it (and which don't)

- Strong copywriting for an older U.S. audience. Samples required

- Can design email s yourself (HTML templates or drag and drop builders)

- Comfortable with numbers: open and click rates are a start, but revenue per subscriber is what counts

- Overlap with U.S. Eastern business hours

Nice to have

- Experience with conservative, patriotic, outdoor, survival, or financial newsletter audiences

- Affiliate network experience (ClickBank, Digistore24, or direct partner deals)

- SMS program experience

- Basic list buying or co-registration knowledge, and when to avoid it

Hard nos

- Blasting the whole list on day one

- Hype-heavy, spammy copy

- Needing to be told what to send every day
