Position: Electrical Design Specialist
Type: Contract
Compensation: $70–$85/hour
Location: Remote
Duration: Short-term project
Role Responsibilities
- Develop, analyze, and evaluate electrical designs based on technical requirements and system performance.
- Design and review electrical systems , circuits, and components, including distribution systems and control panels .
- Interpret and analyze electrical schematics , diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Perform electrical calculations such as load flow , voltage drop , and short-circuit analysis .
- Evaluate design alternatives and identify potential design issues or improvements.
- Review and validate designs against project requirements and engineering standards.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- Experienced Electrical Design Engineers or Electrical Engineers with hands-on industry experience .
- Bachelor's , Master's , or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of electrical system design and engineering principles .
- Practical experience in designing or evaluating electrical systems .
- Experience with low- and medium-voltage systems and power distribution .
- Experience with tools such as AutoCAD Electrical , ETAP , or Revit .
Preferred
- Advanced degree or professional engineering certification .
- Experience with power system studies and specifying and sizing transformers and switchgear .
- Experience with industrial automation and control systems .
- Familiarity with electrical codes and standards like IEC , IEEE , or NEC .
