Ready to Build the Team Behind a Brand Families Love?

At Hadley Designs, we believe that learning should be enjoyable, engaging, and screen-free. Millions of parents and teachers trust our beautifully designed, developmentally aligned educational tools to help children grow and thrive. As a fast-growing, family-founded brand, we are on a mission to make learning meaningful for families around the world.

We are seeking a Director of Recruiting to own how Hadley Designs finds, vets, and closes the growth operators and future leaders who will carry our next phase of growth. If you treat recruiting like a growth problem, love being the face of a brand to candidates, and want the autonomy to run the whole engine, this role is for you.

About Hadley Designs

Hadley Designs is redefining early education with creativity and purpose. Every product we create is hand-drawn and teacher-designed, crafted with care to build confidence and connection. Our screen-free tools help families and teachers make learning fun and meaningful, nurturing curiosity and creativity in children.

Our mission is to design screen-free products that parents can trust to help their children learn, grow, and reach their full potential. Our vision is to build the most trusted children's brand in the world, present in millions of homes, reshaping how families learn, connect, and grow.

Role Overview

As our Director of Recruiting, you will own how Hadley Designs sources, vets, and closes top talent for every open role, from Amazon and ecommerce operators to senior leaders. You will design and run the recruiting engine that consistently delivers a strong top of funnel, put every candidate through a process that shows who they really are, and bring our leadership only the people worth their time.

This is a leadership-tier role with end-to-end ownership of recruiting, from the pipeline to the right people joining our team. A recruiting administrator handles the busy work, so your time goes to meeting candidates, sourcing them, and finding new ways to reach great talent. You will run first-round interviews, including for director-level roles, manage our outside recruiting partners to our standards, and be the face of Hadley Designs for every candidate, so you need to be great on camera and great with people.

Key Responsibilities
- Recruiting pipeline management. Source candidates outbound and inbound across LinkedIn, Workable, job boards, online communities, referrals, and your own network, and filter applicants for red flags, competency match, and alignment with each role profile.
- Test project and interview operations. Run our Culture Index step, case studies, and first-round interviews, review submissions, and manage the candidate experience end to end, including for the people we do not hire.
- Sourcing channel optimization. Manage and optimize sourcing channels based on performance, and build "always hiring" shortlists for recurring high-leverage roles.
- Outside recruiting partners. Manage our agency partners so every candidate they send follows the same process, and hold them to our terms.
- New talent channels.

Find creative new ways to reach great people, especially in the online communities where they already spend time.
- Employer brand and reviews. Monitor and manage Glassdoor and Indeed reviews, organize team review drives, ask for feedback, flag issues, and protect our rating.
- Hiring metrics and funnel reporting. Deliver weekly hiring pipeline reports broken down by channel and role, and track funnel performance against KPIs.
- Reference checks. Run reference checks, by phone for leadership roles.

How Success Is Measured
- Average time to fill open roles under 45 days
- 250 or more qualified applicants per active role per week
- Weekly hiring pipeline report by sourcing channel, 100% complete and on time
- 15 or more completed candidate case studies available for review per role per week
- A Glassdoor company rating of 4.5 or higher across the year, with Indeed tracked beside it
- An interview and recruiting experience candidates rate highly, including the people we do not hire

Who You Are

You are a recruiting-strong, systems-oriented leader. You have personally closed difficult hires, not just managed a team that did. You move fast in a sourcing pipeline, you can run a structured interview that lands the right read on a candidate in 30 minutes, and you are as comfortable pitching a role on camera as you are defending the company on Glassdoor. You look at people the way a growth marketer looks at growth, and you want the autonomy to run the whole engine.

You Have
- 3 to 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, ideally in remote or ecommerce organizations; agency recruiting experience is a big plus
- A proven track record of hiring across marketing, operations, Amazon, ecommerce, product, and leadership roles
- Confidence and presence on camera, and comfort representing a brand to candidates
- Experience running structured interviews, test projects, and case studies
- Outbound sourcing experience, and expert-level LinkedIn and Workable skills
- Real creativity in tapping online communities to find talent in unusual places
- AI capability, a CRM and documented SOPs.

You use AI every day to get more done with less, which is a must-have here and a capability rather than any one tool, and you have a clear view of how all three make recruiting faster and better now and going forward
- Strong writing ability, from clear job posts to compelling outreach and direct candidate communication
- The ability to handle 5 to 10 active roles at a time with no drop-off in process
- Experience building and running reporting for hiring metrics
- Experience managing outside recruiting agencies

Why You'll Love Working Here

Your work will directly impact how families experience learning through the Hadley Designs brand. You will join a passionate, mission-driven team that values trust, creativity, and collaboration, with the freedom of a remote role and flexible working hours.
- Remote-first work environment
- Paid time off and holidays
- Access to learning resources and professional development
- Free access to Hadley Designs products
- Regular interaction with leadership, including the CEO
- Stability from more than a decade as a family-founded, mission-driven brand
