About the Role

Hello Heart is seeking a Director, Clinical Research to lead the clinical and economic evidence strategy to showcase how Hello Heart products help members understand and improve their heart health through AI, hardware, and behavioral science.

Reporting into our VP, Commercial Actuary, you will set our research and publications strategy; partnering with Commercial & Product Leadership, Medical Affairs, Data Science, Product, Sales, and Marketing to drive peer reviewed publications, white papers, conference abstracts, and client facing evidence that support our commercial goals. You will apply your expertise in statistics, claims analysis, and clinical research to shape our study pipeline, build partnerships with leading research institutes and consultants, and represent Hello Heart ’s evidence to technical and executive audiences.

What you’ll do

- Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional partners to prioritize clinical and economic research priorities.

- Provide peer review and mentorship to other researchers on the team, developing their analytical and publication skills over time.

- Generate research questions and develop analytical plans for key publication and evidence-generation priorities.

- Develop partnerships and work alongside leading research institutes.

- Build Hello Heart 's research and evidence strategy to support future FDA-regulated capabilities, accounting for regulatory requirements and timelines.

- Identify, organize, query, and analyze diverse datasets, including clinical, claims, electronic health record (EHR), and engagement data.

- Apply advanced statistical methods, including multilevel modeling, causal inference methods, propensity score matching, mixed-effects modeling, longitudinal analyses, and sensitivity testing.

- Collaborate with co-authors to incorporate feedback and finalize analyses, manuscripts, white papers, and abstracts.

- Respond to anonymous peer reviews, including repeat analyses and manuscript revisions, to support timely resubmission.

- Identify relevant conferences for abstract submission and present ongoing research when appropriate.

- Stay current on scientific research related to cardiovascular health, digital health, behavioral science, chronic disease, health economics, and public health.

- Contribute to data summaries, research protocols, institutional review board (IRB) materials, and other research documentation.

- Translate complex analytical findings into clear, accurate, and actionable insights for clinical, technical, commercial, and executive audiences.

What you’ll bring

- Graduate degree in a clinical field, epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, or a related field, such as Master of Science (MS), Master of Public Health (MPH), Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), with 10+ years of clinical research experience.

- Demonstrated experience working in a commercial research setting, comfortable balancing scientific rigor with business needs.
