Who You’ll Work With

The Development team builds and sustains relationships with individuals, foundations, and institutions that provide resources for Echoing Green ’s work. You will work closely with Development colleagues and partner with Finance, Communications, Programs, and organizational leaders to keep information accurate, coordinate fundraising activity, and support consistent relationships with funders.

Reporting to the Vice President of Development, the Development Associate is an important contributor to the team’s day-to-day operations. The role manages donor data, processes gifts, conducts prospect research, prepares information for meetings and outreach, and helps improve the systems and practices that support fundraising.

Previous fundraising experience is not required. We welcome candidates who have built relevant skills through operations, administration, research, data management, finance, customer or client support, project coordination, community-based work, or other settings.
What You'll Do
Donor Data & Systems

- Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date records in Salesforce, including donor information, interactions, pledges, gifts, and next steps.

- Review data for accuracy and consistency, correct errors when appropriate, and flag issues that require additional guidance or a system-level fix.

- Generate donor lists, reports, and other information that Development colleagues and organizational leaders can use to plan and carry out fundraising work.

Gift Processing & Acknowledgment

- Process incoming gifts accurately and on time, partnering with Finance to confirm coding, allocation, and reconciliation.

- Prepare and personalize gift acknowledgment letters and tax receipts, using clear and consistent records to support timely donor stewardship.

- Maintain documentation that makes gift decisions, restrictions, and follow-up steps easy for the appropriate colleagues to understand and use.

Prospect Research & Briefings

- Conduct respectful, relevant research on individuals, foundations, and companies using appropriate public sources to help identify prospective funders and prepare for engagement.

- Gather and summarize information for donor and meeting briefings, separating verified information from assumptions and highlighting what is most useful for the audience.

- Maintain prospect and portfolio information, including relationship history, current status, and agreed next steps.

Development Operations & Coordination

- Coordinate Development tasks and information across team members and partner teams so that deadlines, responsibilities, and next steps are clear.

- Contribute to donor engagement and stewardship activities, including events, communications, and follow-up.

- Support the annual report and other cross-functional projects that require accurate Development data, research, or coordination.

- Identify practical ways to improve recurring processes, tools, and documentation, and share ideas with the team.
