The main purpose of the Designer is to work on design-related tasks for Digitalist's assigned clients and projects, with the responsibility to create quality, effective, well-designed, and impactful visual work across websites, e-commerce stores, and paid and owned marketing channels that converts and drives sales for our clients.

As a Designer, you will work closely with Account Managers, developers, and specialists to conceptualize and design a variety of client deliverables. On the web side this means design concepts for WordPress and WooCommerce websites and online stores, landing pages, and conversion-focused UX and UI work that is clean to hand over to development. On the marketing side this means Facebook and Google ad creatives, email marketing designs, content marketing graphics, and social assets, all of which have to express the voice, style, look and feel, and overall design of the brand. This will involve having a deep understanding of clients' visual brand identities, communicating new ideas to the team (verbally and visually), implementing client feedback in your designs, and supporting the team throughout the design and editing process. You will need to be creative while working within the direction of your design briefs.

The Designer will report directly to the Design Lead and the Agency Director, and will also work closely with the development, marketing, and analytics sides of the team to ensure that all designs are created well and on time.
About the Role:
Mission statement:

The primary mission of our Designer is to maintain the high design standards of our company by playing an active role in the design and visual creation process across our range of clients and for our own marketing material.

As our Designer, this will include translating analysis and conversion goals into design concepts for client websites and online stores, designing performance creative and email campaigns that reflect each client's message, brand, and style, coming up with innovative design ideas, and ensuring that your work is of the highest standard and delivered on time. Our web process always starts with the goal of higher conversion and sales, so you will be designing to a commercial outcome rather than to a mood board.
General Responsibilities:

- Creating design concepts for client websites and e-commerce stores (primarily WordPress and WooCommerce), including page templates, product and category pages, checkout flows, and landing pages, using professional design tools (including Figma)

- Preparing clean, well-structured, developer-ready files and handovers, including responsive states, components, spacing, and typography rules, and staying available to the developers through implementation

- Creating high-quality, on-brand creatives for Facebook Ads and Google Ads, including static, motion-lite, and iteration variants for testing

- Designing email marketing campaigns and flows, along with content marketing and social assets, in line with each client's brand identity

- Creating and developing visually pleasing yet marketing-oriented and effective concepts in design

- Working from data and analysis (heatmaps, analytics, tracking findings, test results) and turning that input into design decisions that lift conversion

- Understanding the visual brand identity of various clients and being able to advise your Account Managers on potential design ideas, improvements, and optimizations

- Understanding and communicating design ideas (in writing, verbally, and with the use of visuals) to other team members and, when needed, to clients

- Receiving and implementing feedback and design changes to projects you have worked on

- Assisting Account Managers with all tasks in Figma, including implementing edits and helping to design professional reports when needed

- Being part of a team of both expert and less experienced designers, being able to work as a group when needed, and being able to stick to deadlines and deliver
