About Us

Trailblazing Sports is a UK-based technology business developing a proprietary sports and business intelligence platform.

We’re building national databases covering football clubs, commercial sponsors, businesses, growth opportunities, investment activity and industry intelligence.

Our technology will automatically collect, analyse and connect data to identify commercial opportunities for sports clubs across the UK and Ireland.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced Data Intelligence & AI Automation Engineer to help build and manage our proprietary intelligence systems.

This is a technical development role focused on data engineering, web scraping, APIs, AI and automation.

You’ll be responsible for:

* Building automated web scraping and data collection systems

* Developing Apify actors and workflows

* Creating n8n automations

* Integrating APIs and external data sources

* Building and maintaining Supabase databases

* Cleaning, structuring and deduplicating large datasets

* Developing AI-powered data extraction and classification

* Identifying business growth and sponsorship signals

* Creating automated club intelligence alerts

* Developing opportunity scoring and business-to-club matching

* Monitoring data quality and collection performance

* Working with our Full-Stack Developer to deliver intelligence into dashboards and reports

Essential Skills

* Strong experience with Apify and web scraping

* Python and Playwright

* n8n workflow automation

* REST APIs and data integrations

* Supabase, PostgreSQL and SQL

* AI APIs, LLMs and structured data extraction

* Data cleaning, enrichment and deduplication

* JSON, CSV and database management

* Error handling, monitoring and troubleshooting

* Experience building automated data pipelines

Highly Desirable

* Business intelligence and analytical SQL

* AI agents and automated research systems

* Experience collecting and analysing public business data

* Company, financial or commercial intelligence datasets

* Familiarity with UK and Irish business data sources

* Experience developing lead intelligence or opportunity scoring systems

Ideal Candidate

* Minimum 2+ years of relevant automation or data engineering experience

* Able to independently design and build reliable data pipelines

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

* Comfortable handling large and complex datasets

* Excellent attention to accuracy and detail

* Strong written and spoken English

* Proactive and able to work with minimal supervision

* Understands responsible, lawful data collection and source restrictions
