Summary:
As an SAP EWM Consultant, you will execute configuration, build and test work to an approved design, accountable for the quality of your own deliverables for Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) within the Supply chain & logistics tower of the DRS SAP programme. The role exists to own warehouse execution in SAP EWM, where configuration decisions translate directly into travel distance, wave completion times and dock turnaround.
Delivery quality is personal at this level. Performance is assessed on configuration that holds under integration test, on defect recurrence, and on documentation complete enough for another engineer to assume ownership. AI-assisted engineering is expected as standard practice, with every generated output validated before transport.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Scope & Decision Rights: Execute within an approved design. You determine how a configuration item is built, tested and documented design changes, scope calls and estimates are escalated to the workstream lead.
Warehouse Structure & Storage Control: Configure warehouse structure, storage types, sections, bins and activity areas, and design process-oriented and layout-oriented storage control for the physical layout in scope.
Putaway, Removal & Wave Management: Configure putaway and stock removal strategies, warehouse order creation rules and wave management so that work reaches the floor in executable packages.
RF & Shop-Floor Execution: Configure the RF framework and mobile transactions, including the screen flow used by operators, and resolve execution problems observed on the floor as well as in configuration.

Inbound, Outbound & Physical Inventory: Configure inbound and outbound delivery processing, packing and handling unit management, and physical inventory including cycle counting.
Integration & Dependencies: Work with Inventory Management for stock accuracy, with Order Management and Returns for delivery flow, with Transportation Management for loading and with Production for staging where relevant.
Delivery Execution & Quality: Deliver assigned configuration, build and test items against sprint commitments, with configuration rationale, unit test evidence and cutover steps documented to handover standard.

Defect Diagnosis & Resolution: Investigate defects and incidents affecting wave processing or RF execution degrading during peak and holding up outbound shipments, isolating root cause across configuration, master data and interface layers and confirming resolution through regression.
AI-Assisted Engineering & Joule: Apply AI assistants to analyse storage control and warehouse order configuration, generate execution test scenarios and interpret queue and task logs, validating every generated output against system behaviour before transport. Use SAP Joule for Consultants for configuration guidance and troubleshooting, and flag manual steps in the module that are candidates for a Joule agent.
Knowledge Transfer: Document reusable configuration patterns, support analysts joining the workstream, and escalate blockers promptly. Collaboration: Work with functional leads, test teams and downstream modules, reporting item status in terms of delivery impact.

Professional & Technical Skills:
Must-Have Skills
EWM Configuration: Hands-on configuration of EWM warehouse structure, storage control, putaway and removal strategies and warehouse order creation rules.
Embedded or Decentralised EWM: Practical experience delivering EWM in embedded or decentralised deployment, including the delivery distribution and queue behaviour that goes with it.
RF Framework: Hands-on configuration of the RF framework and mobile execution, including screen and logical transaction design.
Handling Units & Packing: Working expertise in HU management, packing specifications and packaging material configuration.
Physical Inventory: Practical experience configuring and supporting physical inventory and cycle counting in a live warehouse.

Operational Judgement: Capability to work with warehouse operations and translate floor-level issues into configuration change.
AI-Assisted Delivery: Evidenced use of AI coding and analysis assistants in live SAP delivery, demonstrable through the specific outputs produced and the validation applied.
SAP Joule for Consultants: Working use of SAP Joule for Consultants in configuration and troubleshooting, including verification of the guidance returned against actual system behaviour. Where prior Joule exposure is absent, working proficiency is expected within 90 days of joining.
Evidence of AI Adoption: Demonstrable adoption of AI in delivery work. This may be evidenced through use of AI coding or analysis assistants, or through equivalent contribution such as reusable accelerators, scripted automation of recurring delivery tasks, or codified patterns adopted by others.

Delivery Discipline: Record of meeting sprint commitments on an enterprise SAP programme, with defect and rework rates that withstood review.
Ownership & Communication: Capable of working an ambiguous defect to root cause independently and of stating clearly when a committed date is at risk.
Good to Have Skills
Material Flow System (MFS) for warehouse automation
Decentralised EWM conversion or upgrade projects

Additional Information:
A 15-year full-time education is required, as stated in the approved demand record.
Minimum 7.5 years of experience on the primary skill, as specified in the approved demand record.
Hands-on configuration and build experience across at least one full SAP implementation or major rollout.
Specific, evidenced examples of AI-assisted work in a production SAP delivery context.
Working proficiency in SAP Joule for Consultants, either held on appointment or achieved within 90 days of joining.
