California General Liability Associate (West Coast) – Remote

We are looking for an Associate Attorney with 2+ years of civil defense litigation experience to join the General Liability practice group in California. This is an opportunity to handle your own caseload with full litigation responsibilities—not just motion work—with a clear path to promotion from associate to senior associate, of counsel, and partner.
Responsibilities

- Managing a full caseload of general liability defense matters including premises liability, personal injury, and casualty defense

- Drafting and responding to motions, complaints, and written discovery

- Attending and defending depositions, court hearings, and client meetings

- Assisting with preparation for mediations and trials

- Billing approximately 1,950 hours annually with quarterly bonus opportunities

Requirements

- Active California bar license in good standing

- 2-8 years of civil defense litigation experience (general liability, premises liability, bodily injury, or casualty defense)

- Defense-side experience required (plaintiff-side will not be considered)

- Ability to manage 25+ cases simultaneously and work independently

- Civil defense litigation (bodily injury, premises liability, general liability)

- Defense-side experience (not plaintiff-side)

- Defense-side litigation experience (premises liability, personal injury, casualty, or general liability)

- Self-motivated; able to independently manage full caseload with minimal supervision

- No book of business required

Education

- JD from ABA-​approved law school

- Active California bar license in good standing

- Experience managing 25+ cases simultaneously
