Beyond managing daily billing activities, this position will play a key role in strengthening internal controls, ensuring revenue accuracy and completeness, preventing revenue leakage, and driving process improvements and automation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Billing Operations & Revenue Accuracy
- Oversee end-to-end billing operations, ensuring accurate, complete, and timely invoicing.
- Maintain hands-on involvement in billing activities, including complex reconciliations, discrepancy resolution, and critical billing tasks as needed.
- Establish and maintain billing controls, procedures, and quality standards.

2. Revenue Assurance & Financial Controls
- Identify and prevent revenue leakage, unbilled services, pricing errors, and other billing discrepancies.
- Perform regular reconciliations between operational systems, billing platforms, and accounting records.
- Collaborate with Accounting to support accurate revenue reporting and month-end closing activities.

3. Team Leadership & Performance
- Lead and supervise the Billing team, ensuring effective workload distribution, accountability, and timely execution.
- Establish clear performance expectations, monitor KPIs, and provide ongoing coaching, training, and feedback.
- Evaluate team productivity, workload distribution, and resource utilization to identify opportunities for greater operational efficiency.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex billing issues, promoting a culture of accuracy, ownership, and continuous improvement.

4. Process Improvement & Automation
- Identify and implement opportunities to streamline billing workflows, reduce manual work, and improve operational efficiency.
- Lead billing automation initiatives, system enhancements, and integration projects.
- Develop and maintain standardized procedures (SOPs), internal controls, and scalable billing processes.

5. Reporting & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Monitor billing performance, revenue trends, discrepancies, and operational KPIs, providing actionable insights to Finance management.
- Collaborate with Operations, Sales, Accounting, and Collections to resolve billing issues and ensure accurate revenue capture.
- Support customer billing dispute resolution and ensure timely communication across departments.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of experience in billing, revenue operations, accounting, or related financial operations.
- Previous experience supervising a team or leading billing operations.
- Demonstrated ability to combine hands-on billing expertise with team leadership, including independently resolving complex billing issues and performing reconciliations.
- Strong understanding of billing processes, revenue controls, reconciliations, and financial operations.
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.
- Experience working with accounting, ERP, or billing platforms.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify discrepancies across large volumes of transactions. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of processes, and collaborate across departments.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with U.S.-based companies and remote, cross-functional teams.
- Experience with recurring, subscription-based, usage-based, or high-volume transactional billing.
- Familiarity with QuickBooks Online, Zoho Books, or similar accounting and billing platforms.
- Previous involvement in billing automation, system integrations, or process improvement projects.
- Experience developing SOPs, internal controls, and operational KPIs.

- 100% Remote Role (LATAM-based candidates preferred).
