Backend Developer (WFH)

About the job:
We are hiring two Backend Engineers with at least 1.5 years of full-time professional software development experience. 2+ years of backend experience is preferred. You will develop backend applications across multiple Grid Solutions products, including: Electricity market bidding systems, Energy Management Systems and Renewable energy management and optimisation solutions.

Key responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Java (Scala)/ TypeScript

2. Design data models and relational database schemas, and write and optimize SQL queries

3. Translate business requirements into validation rules and backend business logic

4. Write and maintain unit and integration tests

5. Review code, debug issues, and resolve production and integration problems

6. Integrate internal applications and external systems while collaborating with an international engineering team

Other Requirements:
- 1. 2+ years of full-time professional software development experience, excluding internships and training programs
- 2. Hands-on professional backend development experience and strong working knowledge of TypeScript
- 3. Experience developing REST APIs
- 4. Good knowledge of relational databases and SQL, including schema design and data modeling
- 5. Experience writing and maintaining unit tests
- 6. Professional experience using Git, with good debugging and problem-solving skills
- 7. Ability to communicate effectively in English within an international engineering team
