TypeScript: Strong proficiency in TypeScript, including types, interfaces, generics, and decorators.

NestJS: Hands-on experience building production applications with NestJS, including modules, controllers, providers, dependency injection, guards, interceptors, pipes, and middleware.

Microservices: Proven experience designing and building microservices, including service decomposition, inter-service communication (REST, gRPC, or message-based), and NestJS microservice transports.

Message brokers: Experience with at least one message broker such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, Redis Pub/Sub, or NATS for event-driven and asynchronous communication.

Docker: Strong experience containerizing applications, writing optimized multi-stage Dockerfiles, and using Docker Compose for local multi-service environments.

APIs: Experience designing and documenting RESTful APIs (with Swagger/OpenAPI); familiarity with GraphQL is a plus.

Databases: Solid experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL) and ORMs like TypeORM or Prisma, plus working knowledge of MongoDB (Mongoose) and Redis for caching.

Server-side fundamentals: Strong understanding of authentication and authorization (JWT, OAuth2, Passport.js), request validation (class-validator), error handling, logging, and securing APIs against common vulnerabilities.

Testing: Experience writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using Jest and Supertest.

Git: Proficiency with Git, branching strategies, and code review workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

Kubernetes: Experience deploying and managing containerized microservices with Kubernetes or a similar orchestrator.

Microservice patterns: Familiarity with API gateways, service discovery, circuit breakers, the Saga pattern, CQRS, and event sourcing.

Cloud: Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure (e.g., ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, SQS/SNS).

CI/CD: Experience building pipelines with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins.

Observability: Experience with centralized logging and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or OpenTelemetry for distributed tracing.

Performance: Experience profiling Node.js applications and optimizing for high throughput and low latency.

Soft Skills

Problem-solving: Able to debug issues that span multiple services and trace failures across distributed systems.

Communication: Clearly explains technical decisions and collaborates well with frontend, DevOps, and product teams.

Ownership: Takes features from design through deployment and supports them in production.

Teamwork: Comfortable working in Agile teams and giving and receiving constructive code reviews.
