About the Role
The Account Consultant is responsible for delivering exceptional service and support to new and existing accounts to maximize customer satisfaction, retention, growth, and profitability. This role partners closely with Sales, brokers, and internal stakeholders to support business development initiatives, resolve complex service issues, and ensure the successful implementation and administration of client accounts. What You'll Do

Partner with Sales to support new business acquisition, account retention, managed care conversions, and the expansion of existing client relationships.

Respond promptly and proactively to client and broker inquiries by coordinating with appropriate internal departments and business partners.

Investigate and resolve complex service-related issues while providing guidance on products, benefits, policies, and procedures.

Support the processing and administration of documentation related to account prospecting, enrollment, changes, and terminations.

Maintain accurate account records and group administration data through ongoing review and updates.

Coordinate and facilitate the implementation of new groups, renewals, and account conversions to ensure a seamless customer experience.

Analyze cross-functional service issues and identify opportunities for process improvement and resolution.

Gather, verify, and validate information from members, brokers, and employer groups to ensure the accuracy and completeness of sales and account documentation.

Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, brokers, and external partners.

Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.

Minimum of one (1) year of experience in health insurance, life insurance and group benefits, customer.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience supporting group health insurance products and managed care plans.

Experience working with brokers, employer groups, or insurance account administration.
Licenses and Certifications
-
New Jersey State Health and Life Insurance License, or the ability to obtain the license within three (3) months of employment.
Knowledge and Technical Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Experience using customer relationship management (CRM), applicant tracking, or insurance-related systems.

Proficiency with internet- and intranet-based applications.

Knowledge of group health insurance products, managed care plans, and industry practices preferred.

Familiarity with Horizon BCBSNJ products, services, and underwriting guidelines preferred.
Travel (If Applicable)

May require travel predominantly within NJ but possibly to limited areas within the US.

Salary Range:
$63,000 - $84,420
