NetBird·Full-time https://netbird.io/careers NetBird is open source networking and access control WireGuard-based overlay networks with zero-config peer-to-peer connectivity. Open source, built in Europe, used by thousands of teams worldwide. We're a small and growing team going up against the incumbents in network security. Post Series A. - Engineering Manager : You will take a huge part in leading and scaling our engineering org. Unblocking, scaling, hiring, you'll still read code and hold technical opinions that impact the product. We're not looking for a pure people manager. Networking/infra background is a plus, not a filter. If you've scaled a team from 0 to 20+ and seen your product scale too, I'd love to talk to you. - Senior/Staff Backend Engineer (Golang) : the control plane: peer coordination, policy and access control, multi-tenancy, and keeping it all fast as customer networks grow into the hundreds of thousands of peers. - Network / Client Engineer (Golang) — the agent side: WireGuard, NAT traversal and hole punching, relays, DNS, and shipping one client across Linux, macOS, Windows, iOS and Android. If you enjoy debugging why one connection out of a thousand won't go peer-to-peer, this is the role. - Solutions Engineer — technical, customer-facing, pre/post-sales. You'll be the person who architects a rollout for a 500-person company's network live on a call, and a great channel back into the roadmap. We have an office in Berlin and mostly work CET/CEST. We'd love to have you in the office with us, but if your experience is stellar we're happy to hire remote. We're scaling quickly, so this is a chance to join early and scale your career as well as with the company. Apply at https://netbird.io/careers , please mention you found us on Hacker News in your application.

Renaissance Philanthropy·Remote (worldwide) Renaissance Philanthropy's aim is to activate a virtuous circle of increasing ambition and impact between philanthropists and innovators: by identifying frontier experts both in science and in new ways of solving problems; by tapping into the growing number of emerging philanthropists; and by building multi-sector initiatives that can harness the power of philanthropy, markets, and governments. RenPhil's Engineering Hub supports mission-driven, grant-funded educational technology projects that seek to improve educational outcomes in fundamental skills like math and reading. This summer we're launching a program called LEVI Literacy, which has a goal of halving the number of struggling readers in the US within 5 years. We're looking for an expert in modern voice AI to support this work. Our partner teams are building tools that assess and support early reading directly from children's speech in real classrooms — oral reading, spoken vocabulary tasks, whole-class instruction. These are hard, meaningful speech problems: young children's voices, noisy multi-speaker environments, and high stakes for getting it right — and fair — for every student. We're looking for folks who: - have built and operated production ASR or speech-processing systems - know the full data-to-model pipeline: collection, annotation, fine-tuning, evaluation, and deployment - can speak the languages of both research and engineering - want to help create a world where all children learn to read well. If this sounds like you, please apply! https://www.renaissancephilanthropy.org/careers

Startup working on AI Healthcare solutions (plus some random experiments)·Full time and project based Full time engineering role (Remote, US person required; Pacific time zone) Stack: C#, Python, Gemini API on Windows, lots of legacy systems/constrained enterprise environment. Health systems experience preferred. Understanding of cost effective, reliable LLM API use. Should be flexible: do PM-like work with less-technical client domain experts, solve problems end to end, willing to data cleaning and detailed work for client goals and security/compliance gruntwork, even when it's not technically elegant. Self motivated, willing to understand legacy and undocumented codebases, but also willing to take instructions. Ideal candidate has real (pre-Claude Code) experience, but is ready to do fast iteration in post-AI world, while actually reading what the AI does. We're ok if your stack is different, if you're both technically mature and up to date on modern fast-turnaround AI-based development. Probably in the 5+ year experience range. REMOTE anywhere, project based or initially part time: startup generalist hacker, maintain systems and websites, code one-off prototypes. Should be good enough to code without an AI in a few languages, but an effective AI harness coder. Can do a small but complete app/project end to end, including basic marketing. 2+ year exp or a new grad with a good portfolio or major project; happy to consider more experienced person. Good role for someone who's working on their own startup to pick up some side money and experience. Projects could be anything from game-like apps/novelties to voice tools to utility apps. REMOTE anywhere, project based or initially part time: help on some more experimental mathy projects. M.S./Ph.D. in statistics, physics or related, with pragmatic programming experience. Possible projects: gaussian process modeling; designing evaluation metrics; compression; Bayesian tools for radiology imaging. May be good for a grad student part time. This is the fun stuff the founder would rather be doing himself if he had the time. REMOTE (US person) Half-time remote admin/chief of staff type: deal with bookkeeping, compliance, communications, social media, phone calls - save us time on everything non-technical. Should be effective AI user; should have some relevant experience supporting tech business. Please reply with a salary target. [email protected]
