Who You Are

Collective Energy is seeking a strategic, execution-oriented VP of Finance to lead and oversee the firm’s financial platform across all corporate entities, funds, and investments. The VP of Finance will be responsible for ensuring the firm’s financial health, liquidity, scalability, and long-term value creation.

This role requires a hands-on leader who can operate at both the strategic and granular levels—owning capital strategy, financial architecture, tax oversight, deal economics, investor reporting, and systems development—while serving as a key thought partner to executive leadership.

What You'll Do
Key Responsibilities:
Capital Strategy & Liquidity Management

- Own and execute the Parent company-wide capital strategy (short-, medium-, and long-term).

- Maintain a real-time, consolidated view of the total capital stack across all entities, funds, and investments.

- Secure and manage Program-Related Investments, long-term debt obligations, SAFE Investments and any other corporate-level debt.

- Forecast liquidity needs across development, pre-development, operating carry, and guarantee exposure.

- Stress-test capital structures under downside and market volatility scenarios.

Financial Architecture & Reporting

- Design and maintain the firm’s financial architecture and entity structure.

- Ensure accurate, timely consolidated reporting across entities.

- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.

- Deliver investor-, lender-, foundation- and audit-ready financial reporting packages.

- Establish best-in-class financial controls and reporting standards.

- Prepare and present reports for leadership.

Tax Strategy & Audit Oversight

- Own and oversee tax strategy across all entities, investments, including personal tax impacts and expectations of Ownership and any outside investors.

- Supervise corporate, fund, and deal-level tax filings in coordination with external advisors.

- Coordinate and manage audits across required entities.

- Handle and execute all deals regarding Investment Tax Credit Sales, IRS Filings, and process involving Transferability of Clean Energy Tax Credits

Deal Economics, Capital Accounts & Exit Planning

- Oversee capital account tracking and ensure integrity across all deals.

- Model refinance, exit, and partial liquidity scenarios.

- Advise leadership on hold vs. sell decisions and timing considerations.

- Ensure transparent, defensible, and investor-aligned economic structures.

- Be responsible for all proformas related to Storage+Storage clean energy projects including tax credits, long-term debt analysis and portfolio-level analysis

- Financial deal modeling with current and prospective clients. Determining project feasibility and on-going financial oversight of in-process projects. Preparing and reviewing term sheets/contracts/documentation with prospective clients, bank lenders, and other financing partners.

- Reviewing and recommending all deal points related to the projects with Executive Man
