JOB OVERVIEW

About the role

I’m a full-time UGC creator and creative strategist producing paid video content for brands and agencies across supplements, skincare, wellness, home goods, pet, food & beverage, apps, and more. I film everything myself — I need an editor who can take my raw footage and turn it into finished, brief-compliant deliverables that go straight to the brand without me rebuilding them.

This content will be for both META ads, as well as organic content. Understanding the nuances of paid ads and organic content is important as well as the ability to adhere to brand requirements.

This is not “make it look cool” editing. Every video is tied to a paid brief with rules attached: required hooks, banned words, mandatory disclosures, exact runtimes, specific product moments that must appear on screen. Your job is to make the footage feel effortless and native to TikTok/Reels while hitting every single requirement in the brief.

If you’re strong, this becomes ongoing, recurring work with steady volume because the more work we can create together (I record, you edit) we both win! I see this continuing to grow and scale throughout the rest of 2026 and beyond.

What you’ll do

• Edit raw vertical footage into finished UGC deliverables, typically 15–60 seconds in length

• Read and follow the brand brief closely — angle, hook, runtime, CTA, required callouts, banned language, and any compliance restrictions

• Review brand-supplied example and reference videos and match the pacing, style, and editing feel

• Tighten pacing: trim filler words (“um,” “like,” “so”), dead air, false starts, and long pauses without making the delivery sound choppy or robotic

• Build a strong hook in the first 3 seconds from my footage — often the brief specifies this, sometimes you’ll need to find the best take

• Cut multiple versions of the same concept when requested (e.g. 15s / 30s / 45s, or 3 different hook variations on one body)

• Layer in b-roll, product close-ups, unboxing, and screen recordings where the brief calls for it.

• Add captions/subtitles that are accurate, well-timed, readable on mobile, and styled to match the brand or platform norm

• Add sound and music only from commercially safe/royalty-free sources — many briefs explicitly ban copyrighted audio

• Add on-screen text, simple graphics, product/label callouts, and disclosure text (#ad, “Individual results vary,” etc.) when required

• Basic color correction and audio cleanup so cuts don’t jump between clips

• Export to spec (resolution, aspect ratio, file type, file naming) and deliver to the correct folder in Google Drive

• Flag problems early — missing shots, unusable audio, a required element I didn’t film, or anything in the footage that would violate the brief

Requirements

• Proven experience editing short-form vertical content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, or paid social ads (UGC ad experience strongly preferred over vlog/YouTube editing)

• Fluent in CapCut, Canva, or a comparable editing tool (Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut also fine — CapCut fluency is a big plus)

• Comfortable working from written briefs and following instructions exactly, including restrictions on what cannot be said or shown

• Excellent English comprehension — you need to hear filler words, catch a misread line, and know when a take doesn’t land

• Strong sense of pacing and rhythm for short-form; you know when a cut is a half-second too long

• Reliable with deadlines. Brand deadlines are firm and revisions are on tight turnarounds

• Comfortable with Google Drive; ClickUp or similar project tools a plus

• Able to accept feedback and turn revisions around quickly and without friction

Nice to have

• Familiarity with UGC platforms like JoinBrands, Billo, Insense, or Amazon shoppable video and their spec/compliance requirements

• Understanding of FTC disclosure basics and ad compliance (no medical claims, no guarantee language, etc.)

• Ability to build simple motion text, animated captions, or light graphic overlays

• Experience editing Amazon and Meta ad creative specifically

How you’ll work with me

• I deliver raw footage + the brand brief + any reference videos in a shared Drive folder. I will record a loom video explaining in more detail if needed. We can also communicate specifics via WhatsApp.

• You edit, export to spec, and drop the finished file back in the same folder by the agreed deadline

• I review and send revision notes if needed — my revision rate with brands is under 10% and I want to keep it there

• Communication over email or WhatsApp. I’m responsive and I give clear notes,

I am open to looking at an hourly rate and also a per-deliverable rate. It will definitely depend on what we are able to produce in what time and keeping in mind most jobs are simple edits and more rarely will there be complex projects and those can also be handled on a case by case basis as we get into a good flow and routine.

I said roughly 10 hours per week but can be flexible, especially if you’re looking for more work.
