Strategic Finance Manager
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Strategic Finance Manager based in the United States.
The Strategic Finance Manager will serve as a trusted financial partner to business and functional leaders, providing insights that support strategic and operational decision-making.
This role combines financial planning, forecasting, modeling, business analysis, and commercial insight to help drive organizational performance.
You will translate complex financial data into clear recommendations, identify opportunities, and help leaders make informed decisions.
The position offers broad exposure to long-term planning, budgeting, scenario analysis, reporting, business cases, and potentially M&A initiatives.
You will collaborate across functions and may lead or develop a team of FP&A professionals while influencing priorities and financial outcomes.
The role requires strong business acumen, analytical judgment, and the ability to solve complex problems where there may be no established precedent.

Accountabilities:
- Business FP&A: Support business and functional strategies by helping drive the achievement of financial goals and objectives through rigorous analysis, planning, and financial insight.
- Business Partnership: Build strong relationships with business leaders and functional stakeholders, developing a deep understanding of their operations, priorities, challenges, and financial drivers.
- Financial Planning: Lead and execute long-term planning, annual budgeting, forecasting, scenario analysis, and financial reporting activities.
- Strategic Analysis: Analyze historical and forward-looking financial data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and insights that support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Commercial Assessment: Evaluate tactical and strategic sales, marketing, and pricing opportunities while developing a detailed understanding of customer business models, financial performance, and competitive market dynamics.
- Business Cases & Modeling: Develop financial models and business cases that support investment decisions, strategic initiatives, and organizational priorities.
- M&A Support: Contribute to special business projects and initiatives, which may include mergers and acquisitions modeling, due diligence, and integration activities.
- Strategic Execution: Help translate organizational strategies into operational objectives and financial plans, supporting effective management of resources and performance.
- Team Leadership: Where applicable, lead and develop FP&A professionals, coach team members on performance, contribute to performance evaluations, and provide input into compensation decisions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead cooperative efforts across project teams and interact with managers, customers, supervisors, and functional leaders on matters involving multiple business areas.
- Decision Support: Apply financial expertise and business judgment to complex situations, evaluating relevant factors and developing practical recommendations where clear precedent may not exist.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelorβs degree required.
- Experience: At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in finance, FP&A, business analysis, or a related field.
- Financial Planning Expertise: Strong understanding of long-term planning, budgeting, forecasting, scenario analysis, financial reporting, and financial modeling.
- Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and business data, identify relevant factors, evaluate complex situations, and develop sound recommendations.
- Business Acumen: Ability to understand business models, commercial drivers, financial performance, customer dynamics, and competitive considerations.
- Strategic Thinking: Comfortable supporting strategic and operational objectives and translating financial insights into actionable business recommendations.
- Problem Solving: Strong judgment and analytical capability, particularly when addressing complex problems without clear precedent.
- Communication: Ability to communicate financial insights clearly and effectively with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Collaboration: Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to lead cooperative efforts across functions, business units, and project teams.
- Leadership: Experience coaching or developing colleagues and contributing to team performance is valuable, particularly for candidates who will lead FP&A professionals.
- Adaptability: Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic environment, manage competing priorities, and support special projects and strategic initiatives.

- Salary: Estimated base salary range of $114,000β$170,000 USD , with individual compensation determined by geographic location, qualifications, experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
