This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Property Claims Advisor based in Canada.

This is a senior claims role focused on the investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and resolution of complex property losses.
You will manage high-exposure and technically challenging claims, including litigated, environmental, and appraisal matters.
The position combines advanced claims expertise with detailed coverage analysis and sound decision-making.
You will collaborate with legal counsel, engineers, environmental specialists, contractors, restoration vendors, and other experts.
You will also provide technical guidance and mentoring to colleagues handling complex files.
The role offers a fully remote environment where independent judgment, organization, and customer service are essential.

Accountabilities
-

Investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve complex property claims in accordance with policy coverage, regulatory requirements, and established guidelines.

Conduct detailed coverage analysis and make well-supported liability and indemnity decisions on complex and high-exposure claims.

Manage litigated claims and collaborate effectively with legal counsel and external technical specialists.

Work with engineers, environmental consultants, restoration vendors, contractors, and other experts to investigate and resolve technically complex losses.

Review and interpret estimates, scopes of work, reports, and XactAnalysis files to support fair and accurate claim settlements.

-

Handle specialized claims involving environmental losses, oil spills, mould, asbestos, condominiums, travel trailers, and appraisal matters.

Identify potential subrogation opportunities and manage recovery efforts effectively.

Review complex claim files and provide technical guidance, consultation, and mentoring to claims colleagues and leadership.

Maintain thorough documentation and ensure claim decisions are supported by policy language, evidence, and applicable requirements.

Deliver a high standard of customer service while managing sensitive and complex claims professionally and efficiently.

Requirements

-

Minimum 5 years of property claims adjusting experience , including significant experience with complex property losses.

-

Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation is required.

-

Valid New Brunswick Adjuster's License is required.

-

Demonstrated experience handling complex property claims, litigated files, and appraisal processes.

-

Strong knowledge of property policy wording, coverage interpretation, liability assessment, and subrogation principles.

-

Experience collaborating with lawyers, engineers, environmental consultants, contractors, restoration professionals, and other technical specialists.

-

Advanced knowledge of XactAnalysis and property restoration estimating practices is an asset.

-

Experience with environmental losses, including oil spill claims, is an asset.

-

Experience handling mould, asbestos, condominium, travel trailer, and park model claims is an asset.

-

Experience preparing schedules of loss for complex claims is an asset.

-

Proven ability to provide technical leadership and support during complex claim reviews.

-

Bilingual proficiency in English and French is considered an asset.

Strong analytical, negotiation, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to exercise sound independent judgment and manage priorities effectively in a fully remote environment.

Strong customer-service orientation and the ability to communicate complex claims matters clearly to diverse stakeholders.
