The Senior Director, Corporate Communications and Marketing leads Sarah Cannon Research Institute's enterprise communications strategy, strengthening organizational reputation, stakeholder engagement, and business growth. This role serves as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and oversees internal and external communications, executive communications, media relations, thought leadership, reputation management, and employee engagement.

The Senior Director leads a team responsible for media relations, communications, digital marketing, and strategic marketing initiatives, ensuring consistent messaging, strong brand positioning, and alignment with organizational priorities.

This is a US-based remote position; relocation assistance and visa sponsorship are not available.

Key Responsibilities for success include:

Develop and execute a comprehensive corporate communications strategy aligned with SCRI's mission, growthobjectives, and business priorities.

Adviseexecutive leadership on communications strategy, reputation management, media engagement, crisis communications, and key stakeholder relations.

Lead enterprise-wide internal and external communications programs, ensuring consistent messaging across channels and audiences.

Direct executive communications initiatives, including leadership messaging, town halls, employee communications, and thought leadership programs.

Oversee media relations activities, including proactive outreach, press releases, media training, interview preparation, and reputation management as well as other duties assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

-
Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred.

10+ years minimum experience leading corporate communications in healthcare, life sciences, pharmaceutical, clinical research, or related industries required.

3-5+ years' experience as a people leader managing marketing or communications professionals

-
Expertisein media relations, executive communications, employee communications, thought leadership, crisis communications, stakeholder engagement, and reputation management.

-
Experience advising senior executives and serving as a strategic communications partner to organizational leadership.

Proven success leading communications and marketing functions, aligning brand positioning, messaging, and stakeholder engagement strategies.

Knowledge of healthcare, oncology, clinical research, and biopharmaceutical development environmentspreferred.
