As the Sr Actuary – Filings Transformation Leader, you will lead a multi-year effort to centralize, simplify, and scale rate filing processes across Commercial Lines, Excess & Surplus, Specialty, and Nationwide Agribusiness. This is an opportunity for an experienced P&C actuary to improve how filing work gets done, enable more consistent execution, and help teams accelerate to a “build once, use many” operating model.
What you’ll do

Lead the current-state filings capability while defining and executing a long-term filings transformation roadmap.

Direct a team of Actuarial Associates ongoing filings/reporting and implementation work, providing structure, prioritization, coaching, and delivery oversight.

Partner across Pricing, Legal, Product, Government Relations, Technology, and Departments of Insurance to improve efficiency, quality, and regulatory responsiveness.

Identify opportunities to use automation, artificial intelligence, and modern analytical tools to improve processes and convert filing information into scalable business insights for profitability reviews.

Establish strong peer-review and governance practices, resolve process gaps, and promote consistent actuarial standards across portfolios.

Translate complex actuarial analysis into clear recommendations for technical and non-technical senior leaders.

Represent Nationwide ’s position with regulators, auditors, and external partners when needed.

We are looking for a change-oriented, solutions-focused actuary who understands insurance filings and has been motivated to make the process better. The strongest candidates will bring:

Deep experience with P&C actuarial work, insurance rate filings, or related regulatory processes; commercial lines or personal lines experience may be relevant.

An actuarial credential required for filing signatory responsibilities, generally an FCAS or equivalent qualification.

The ability to connect actuarial judgment, regulatory requirements, data, technology, and business strategy.
