Spring 2027 Start: We are seeking qualified full-time instructors for Jr. & Sr. High Schools in the Greater Tokyo area.

We are currently hiring instructors for junior and senior high school positions in the Kanto area that will start in April 2027. Those who will be available to start in January 2027 are also welcome to apply.

\[Contract period]
April 2027 – March 2028
(Possibility of renewal, depending on performance, company's financial situation and clients' contract status )

\[Schedule]
-Five days a week between Monday and Saturday
-8:00 am - 5:00 pm
-5 lessons on average per day
*Workdays and times will vary from school to school
**May be required to work outside of regular hours for special school events such as open campus for potential students

\[Main duties]
-Teach English and/or other subjects based on the school curricula
-Conduct work other than teaching: create lesson plans, prepare materials/tests, assess student progress, attend to extra activities, prepare students to study abroad, etc.

\[Location]
Kanto area - Tokyo, Chiba, Kanagawa, Saitama, etc.

\[Remuneration]
260,000 ~ 300,000 JPY/Month (Determined per skill requirements)

・Examples from 2024:
260,000~ JPY/Month for general school position
300,000 JPY/Month for IB Math + English

・The base salary is guaranteed for the 12 months despite long breaks in summer/winter/spring.
・Transportation expenses are fully reimbursed; advance payment for commute pass fee is possible
・Social insurance coverage (health insurance, employment insurance coverage, and pension)
・10 paid vacation days after the six-month probationary period
・Visa support for full-time positions

\[Requirements]
・ Must be a native-level English speaker
・ Have received education where the language of instruction was in English from elementary school up to higher education.
・ Possess a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university (The main language of instruction must have been in English)
・ Have a minimum of 3 years of experience teaching at a private Jr. and/or Sr high school
・ Are a team-player

\[Preferred Qualifications]
・ Have experience teaching and extensive knowledge of IB/SAT/ACT curricula
・ Experience teaching high-level English students preparing to enter overseas universities
・ Experience teaching preparation courses for entry to overseas universities
・Hold a teaching license or certificate from an accredited organization, such as CELTA, DELTA, MA TESOL, etc., which should include a practicum as part of the course work.
・ Have experience teaching subjects other than English: such as Science, Math, IT, Sports, History, Music, etc.
・ Have a high proficiency level in Japanese

NOTE: After successful registration with Berkeley House, each prospective school may conduct its own selection process including an interview and possibly a demo lesson.
