Short Vertical Video Editor
About the role
Keenya Kelly LLC is hiring a contract editor to turn raw footage into ready-to-post short vertical videos for Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook . This is an editing-only role. Keenya plans and films the content, and our operations manager schedules it. You edit, on time, to a clear standard.
Keenya Kelly is a video marketing educator who has trained over 10,000 entrepreneurs and built 700K+ organic followers across platforms. You'll be editing the content that feeds her audience and her programs every week.
You're a fit if you like working from a clear brief, delivering in batches, and knowing exactly what's expected each week.
What you'll deliver:
Two kinds of videos, delivered in batches on a fixed weekly rhythm.
Deliverable
Volume
Delivery
Main videos: talking-head, tutorials, and trend videos edited from Keenya's footage
About 7 per week (1 per day), about 14 per week during launch periods (Talking Head)
Edit next week's videos this week. About 3 finished videos per working day once footage and the calendar are shared.
Trial Reels: B-roll clips with text on screen (VERY EASY AND REPETITIVE)
70 per week
35 every Monday and 35 every Wednesday
What a finished main video includes
• Tight cuts with no dead air, and a strong visual hook in the first second
• On-screen text and captions as written in the content calendar
• Clean audio, and trending audio where the calendar calls for it
• Vertical 9:16, exported to the right folder and named to our file convention
What a finished Trial Reel includes
• A B-roll clip chosen from our best-performing footage folder, with the strongest visual moment first
• The on-screen text from the text list provided, readable and on-brand
• Around 7 seconds long, unless the brief says otherwise
Revisions: turn around requested changes within 24 hours.
What we provide
You won't be guessing what to make. Every week you get:
• The content calendar for main videos, planned about two weeks ahead, with the hook, on-screen text, caption, format notes, and reference examples for each piece
• Raw footage from Keenya in a shared Drive folder
• The B-roll library, plus a separate folder of the footage that performs best in Trial Reels
• A running list of Trial Reel on-screen text and captions
• Examples of top-performing videos and our approved templates
• One point of contact: our operations manager, who handles handoffs, feedback, and scheduling
You don't write scripts, plan content, schedule posts, or manage accounts. You never need login access to Keenya's social media accounts.
Requirements
Must have
• A portfolio of short vertical videos you edited for Instagram Reels or TikTok, with links
• Strong skills in CapCut (desktop) or a comparable editor
• An eye for hooks: you know what makes someone stop scrolling in the first second
• Reliability: you hit batch deadlines every week without reminders
• Clear written English, and you follow written briefs precisely
• Comfort working in Google Drive and shared spreadsheets
Nice to have
• Experience editing for coaches, educators, or personal brands
• Familiarity with current Instagram and TikTok trends and audio
• Experience with Canva
Availability: enough capacity to deliver the volumes above every week, with at least a few hours of overlap with US Central Time on weekdays for questions and feedback.
Pay, terms, and paid test week
• Pay: $550per month, based on experience. You're paid for output, not hours, so you can batch the work on your own schedule as long as deliveries land on time.
• Type: independent contractor, ongoing.
• Paid test week: before we agree on a monthly contract, the top candidate completes one paid test week of real work: one week of main videos and 70 Trial Reels, delivered on the normal Monday and Wednesday schedule. The test week pays $140.
We'll look at speed, quality, how closely you followed the brief, and how you handle revisions.
• After the test: if it's a fit, we set a monthly agreement with the deliverables above and review it after 30 days.
