What you’ll be doing

As part of the Content and Translation Chapter on the broader Experience Design & Enablement team, you’ll be translating, editing, evaluating and managing French content for both our client-facing digital banking platforms and employee-facing tools and applications. You’ll work closely with other Content Designers, Translators, UX Designers, Accessibility Consultants and UX Researchers, as well as broader cross-functional teams and stakeholders engaged in active delivery sprints. You’ll review and edit English-to-French translations for accuracy, consistency, concision, tone, typography and grammar. You’ll make sure that all translations align with CIBC ’s voice and tone, brand and accessibility standards. You’ll contribute to our French processes and documentation. Experience creating French content for employee workflows and working on product teams in large financial institutions would be especially welcome.

How you’ll succeed

Proficient in French at a native level - You bring extensive knowledge of the French language that’s backed by a degree in translation or equivalent work experience. You have strong terminology research skills, awareness of French-Canadian nuances and good working knowledge of memoQ, OQLF’s standards, Termium, Le GDT, Antidote and terminology databases

Maintain French alignment - You translate, proofread and edit translations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to editorial standards and to the Office Québécois de la langue Française. You pride yourself in ensuring content from vendors, clients and external partners is accurate and meets organizational standards and best practices.

Effectively manage translation - You’recomfortable managingand prioritizing multiple initiatives at once with your excellent organization and time management skills. You know how to workwith collaborative,cross-functional teams that may includedevelopers, QA testers,business analysts,productowners, strategists and business partners,all within active agileworkflows, frameworks andceremonies.

Take initiative - Your solid interpersonalskills enhance team collaboration withstakeholders, product owners, and squad members, and you know how to use different tools and resources to substantiate yourtranslation recommendations.Youuse your excellent communication, consultation and interpersonal skills to champion the French translation discipline and its nuances.

Recommend process improvements - You regularly review the French translation and editing process, focusing on continuous improvement. You will be asked to recommend and implement ways to make the project process as efficient as possible including CAT tools and Content libraries.You comfortably usemultiple tools in your day-to-day work, including Confluence,JIRA, Figma, Mural, CIBC AI, and Microsoft 365,all to help create, manage,deliver, and share yourtranslation with your teams. Ourchapter regularlyassesses new toolsandtechnology to improveour work and becomemore efficient, so fromtime to time you may be asked to test these tools andprovide your feedback.

You have adegree or diplomain translation from a recognized university or minimum 7 years of experience in translation.
