Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting

Position Description

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting Oklo’s financial reporting and accounting function. Reporting to the Financial Reporting Manager, this role will assist with the preparation and execution of Oklo’s SEC reporting requirements, including quarterly and annual financial statements and related disclosures. Other responsibilities include preparing supporting schedules and tie-outs, assisting with technical accounting research, supporting month-end and quarter-end close activities, executing internal controls, and coordinating with internal and external audit teams. The ability to produce accurate, well-supported work while managing key close and SEC reporting deadlines will be a critical success factor. These tasks will require regular interaction with members of the finance and accounting team, cross-functional business partners, third-party advisors, and external and internal auditors.

Specific responsibilities may include:

- Prepare and support quarterly and annual SEC reporting, including Form 10-Q and Form 10-K financial statements, footnotes, supporting schedules, and related reporting packages.

- Perform detailed tie-outs of financial statements and disclosures to the general ledger, supporting workpapers, and source documentation, and prepare quarterly SEC and US GAAP disclosure checklists.

- Prepare and maintain financial reporting workpapers for assigned areas, including statements of cash flows, earnings per share, stock-based compensation, equity, leases, and other reporting matters.

- Assist with technical accounting research and preparation of accounting analyses and memoranda for new transactions, contracts, and accounting standards, including monitoring new FASB guidance and evaluating potential impacts to Oklo’s accounting and financial reporting.

- Assist with month-end and quarter-end close procedures, including journal entries, account reconciliations, consolidation-related schedules, flux analysis, and other analytical procedures.

- Perform internal controls in accordance with SOX requirements and maintain complete and organized supporting documentation.

- Coordinate with external and internal auditors by preparing requested schedules, supporting documentation, and responses to audit inquiries.

- Support equity accounting and reporting, including stock-based compensation and other equity transactions, and assist with annual and interim accounting assessments such as impairment analyses and other recurring technical accounting matters.

- Partner with accounting, finance, legal, payroll, equity administration, and other cross-functional teams to obtain information required for accurate and timely financial reporting.

- Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting processes, workpapers, and controls to increase accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field

- Three to five years including recent public accounting experience with focus on SEC registrants

- Strong familiarity with ASC literature; proven ability to research technical accounting topics

- Proven project management experience

- Active CPA

Bonus Qualifications:

- Big 4 audit experience is highly preferred

- Master’s degree in accountancy preferred

- Fast growth startup or public company experience

- Preferred remote location: U.S. Mountain or Central time zones
