Ehvert Mission Critical , a business unit within Salas O’Brien , is seeking an experienced Recruiting Assistant for a long-term independent contractor basis .
This is an ongoing contractual engagement with a US-based company and is not limited to a single project . The role involves continuous collaboration across multiple mission-critical projects, based on business needs.
You will provide services as an independent, self-employed professional under a formal independent contractor agreement .

Role Summary:
The Recruiting Assistant as an independent contractor plays a key role in supporting talent acquisition efforts for Ehvert Mission Critical, a business unit within Salas O’Brien, specializing in the engineering and construction management of large-scale hyperscale and AI data centers. In this role, you will help source and secure top technical talent needed to support our high-visibility projects for global technology leaders such as Microsoft, Uber, Oracle, and Amazon.
Working closely with management, the Recruiting Assistant supports the full-cycle recruitment process-from identifying hiring needs and sourcing candidates, to screening, interviewing, and coordinating offers. This role is responsible for building strong talent pipelines for engineering, design, construction, and VDC-related roles that support data centers often exceeding 100 MW and scaling up to 500 MW per site.
You will be involved in posting job openings, evaluating applicants, conducting phone screenings and preliminary interviews, preparing communication materials, evaluating sourcing channels, and providing daily progress reports. The role also includes supporting various HR tasks and ensuring a positive candidate experience throughout the process.
To succeed in this fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, the ideal candidate must excel at multitasking, managing confidential information with discretion, and communicating clearly in English. Strong knowledge of sourcing techniques, experience reviewing large volumes of resumes, and familiarity with tools such as ATS systems, LinkedIn, and Microsoft Office are essential. Experience recruiting in the US or Canada is a strong asset.

- Working hours: Monday to Friday, 12:00 — 21:00 (can be slightly adjusted).

Responsibilities:
- Source and recruit candidates, including passive candidates for major projects in various countries
- Develop, update, and post job openings on appropriate platforms and job sites
- Screen candidates by reviewing resumes and applications to evaluate if they meet position requirements
- Perform preliminary screening interviews
- Follow up with candidates during the recruitment process
- Select the best candidates and assist the HR Manager/Recruiter in conducting video interviews and sorting through applicants
- Draft communication materials, such as emails, messages to candidates, and offer and rejection letters
- Evaluate which sources bring the best candidates
- Assist the HR Manager in various HR duties
- Provide reports to the HR Manager on a daily basis for completed or in-progress tasks
