PR Coverage Tracking / Data Search Specialist

Summary of Position

UberStrategist is a PR and Marketing agency that provides services to the gaming, tech, and entertainment industries. The primary responsibility of the Coverage Tracking / Data Search Specialist is to track all coverage achieved from our PR efforts (media outreach and organic influencer outreach) and to facilitate accurate and expeditious campaign coverage reporting to clients and internal teams.

Job Description

The Coverage/Tracking Data Search Specialist is responsible for accurate tracking and reporting of all coverage achieved by our PR and marketing efforts for clients. The position uses various tools, including Google Search and Meltwater, to monitor editorial coverage of client products and services. Once coverage is found, they must meticulously track appropriate coverage and deliver accurate, timely, and comprehensive reporting to project leads for review.

This role requires a high degree of organization, exceptional attention to detail, excellent time management, and an ability to multitask and prioritize essential and urgent tasks. The ability to optimize data searches and then evaluate and organize data is essential.

Candidates must be technically savvy, as this role requires the use of a variety of tech tools for tracking coverage and producing reports. Proficiency with Muck Rack will be prioritized, as well as all Google Suite applications, particularly Google Sheets, Gmail, and Google Docs is also a must. Some basic translation (using readily available online tools) of non-English language coverage to deliver reports in English may be required.

As a plus, candidates with newswire distribution experience and the ability to accurately identify different types of press coverage, including press release pickups and a wide range of earned (organic) coverage, will excel in this role. Experience in the gaming industry is a plus, but optional.

Job Responsibilities

- Build, organize, and maintain coverage tracking sheets that record all editorial coverage and all associated required information

- Track all relevant coverage for assigned clients

- Capture, crop, name, and deliver relevant coverage screen captures

- Actively monitor and track coverage as it happens, including via our third-party tracking tools and effective use of Google alerts and Google searches

- Send all data in an organized and coherent manner to team members for preparing final reports to clients and select stakeholders

- Research and maintain a running list of new contacts to add to our list of media contacts as new outlets and editors are discovered through daily coverage tracking

We have a clearly defined process for this position and are willing to train the right individual who is very technically savvy, has strong communication skills, is highly organized, and has a strong background in data and search management.

This position is for a part-time contractor (10-20 hr/per week), with the possibility of full-time if you truly excel in the role.
