This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Payroll Analyst based in United States.

As a Payroll Analyst, you will help ensure accurate, timely, and compliant payroll delivery for a U.S.-based workforce while supporting international payroll operations. You will manage core payroll activities across multiple states, including wages, deductions, benefits, garnishments, tax filings, and reconciliations. The role combines hands-on payroll processing with coordination across HR, Legal, Finance, and external payroll providers. You will also contribute to international payroll activities, year-end processing, and routine tax compliance matters. Modern payroll and AI-powered tools will be used to strengthen validation, reconciliation, and anomaly detection. This is a collaborative remote role suited to someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working with sensitive payroll information.

Accountabilities:
- Process semimonthly U.S. payroll across multiple states, including wages, deductions, benefits, and garnishments, using established procedures and payroll systems.

- Prepare standard federal, state, and local payroll tax filings, including Forms 941, 940, W-2, and W-3, for review and support the reconciliation of tax liabilities against the general ledger.

- Research routine payroll tax notices and government agency correspondence, escalating complex or unfamiliar tax and compliance matters to senior payroll or tax professionals.

- Support year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and reconciliation.

- Coordinate day-to-day payroll processing for employees outside the U.S. by working with in-country payroll providers to support accuracy and timely payment.

- Serve as a point of contact for assigned international payroll vendors and identify discrepancies requiring review before payroll disbursement.

- Process and audit garnishments, levies, and voluntary deductions in accordance with applicable regulations.

- Partner with HR, Legal, and Finance on standard multi-state and multi-country payroll matters.

- Use AI-powered tools and other payroll technologies to support payroll validation, reconciliations, and anomaly detection.

- Contribute to special payroll projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

- 2+ years of U.S. payroll processing experience .

- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax requirements, including FICA, FUTA, SUTA, and withholding .

- Professional experience using a major payroll platform such as Workday, ADP Workforce Now, ADP Streamline/Celergo, or UKG .

- Proficiency in Excel , including VLOOKUP and pivot tables, for payroll reconciliations and reporting.

- Experience supporting international payroll processes, particularly through collaboration with in-country payroll providers or Employers of Record (EORs), is preferred.

- Experience working with One Source Virtual (OSV) or similar payroll service providers is a plus.

- Comfort using AI-powered tools to assist with payroll validation and reconciliation is preferred.

- Bachelor’s degree is preferred, while an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.

- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification or an international payroll equivalent is preferred.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling payroll calculations, reconciliations, tax information, and employee data.

- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to identify discrepancies and escalate issues appropriately.

- Ability to collaborate effectively with HR, Legal, Finance, payroll vendors, and senior payroll stakeholders.

- Commitment to responsible handling of sensitive payroll information, security protocols, privacy requirements, and ongoing security training.
