About Atelier Akuko

Atelier Akuko is a boutique interior design studio based in Brighton, UK, creating playfully rebellious, story-led interiors for people who dance to their own tune. My work combines interior design with psychology, storytelling, memory and identity. The visual world is expressive, editorial and occasionally a little tongue-in-cheek.

About the role:

I’m looking for a creative, reliable person to help turn my existing photographs, footage and ideas into polished social media content.

This is primarily a creative production role with light publishing responsibilities. I develop the content concepts, write the captions and provide the raw materials and creative direction. You will turn them into brand-aligned content and schedule each post once approved.

I already have a brand guide, design templates, a content bank and a Notion workflow. You won’t be expected to invent everything from scratch. However, I would love to find someone who can gradually become familiar with the Atelier Akuko aesthetic, make thoughtful visual decisions and grow into a trusted creative collaborator.

Responsibilities

- Edit Instagram Reels from supplied talking-head footage, B-roll and creative briefs

- Select strong takes and create a natural, engaging flow

- Add subtitles, text, music and simple transitions where appropriate

- Design Instagram carousels and Stories using our existing templates as guides where helpful

- Adapt or improve templates when the content requires it

- Crop, colour-correct and prepare photographs for social media

- Carry out occasional retouching, such as removing distracting objects or correcting small interior details

- Follow the Atelier Akuko brand guide consistently

- Prepare content in the correct social media dimensions

- Schedule approved posts, including captions, covers, tags, collaborator details and disclosures

- Keep content statuses updated in Notion

- Organise working files and final assets clearly in Google Drive

- Respond to feedback and complete agreed revisions

- You will not initially be responsible for content strategy, writing captions from scratch, community management or analytics.

Essential skills

- Experience editing short-form social media videos

- Confidence using Canva or another suitable design platform

- A good eye for typography, composition, colour and visual storytelling

- Basic photo-editing and colour-correction skills

- Ability to follow a detailed creative brief and brand guide

- Strong attention to detail

- Good written English

- Reliable, clear communication

- An organised approach to files and deadlines

- Openness to feedback and willingness to ask questions

- You may use CapCut, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or another suitable editing program. The quality and sensitivity of your work matter more than a particular software package.

Particularly valuable, but not essential

- Adobe Photoshop

- Adobe Illustrator or other vector software

- More advanced photo retouching

- Digital illustration

- Presentation design

- Simple motion graphics

- Pinterest content

- Preparing vector artwork for physical production

- Familiarity with Instagram or Meta scheduling tools

- An interest in interiors, fashion, editorial design, art direction or storytelling

You do not need every skill on this list. Please be honest about what you can already do and what you would like to learn.

Working arrangement

The role will begin at approximately six flexible hours per week. Some weeks may involve one detailed Reel; others may include a carousel, Stories, retouching or several simpler pieces.

Work can generally be completed asynchronously, provided agreed deadlines are met and communication is clear. Any hours beyond the agreed amount will be discussed in advance.

The role will begin with a paid four-week trial. My aim is to find someone I can work with consistently and entrust with more creative responsibility over time.

How to apply – Please send:

- A short introduction and an explanation of why Atelier Akuko interests you

- Your hourly rate and weekly availability

- A link to your portfolio

- One or two short-form videos you personally edited

- One or two social graphics, carousels or layouts you designed

- Details of the software you use

- If available, you may also include examples of photo retouching, illustration, vector artwork or presentation design.

Please clarify what you personally contributed to each example, particularly if it was created as part of a team.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to complete a small paid test project using supplied Atelier Akuko content. The selected applicant will then begin a paid four-week trial.
