Summary

Anew Behavioral Health Medical Services Department is seeking a professional Medical Services Coordinator with an extensive history of client, provider and external agency interaction. Requires a thorough understanding of licensing processes, and experience with medical administrative duties. This position is highly technical, analytical and detail-oriented with considerable variety and complexity.

Duties and Responsibilities

- The duties listed are intended only as illustrative examples of the various types of work that may be assigned. Any of the following duties may be performed and do not include all specific essential functions and responsibilities that would be assigned. This is a remote position. Regular attendance and punctuality is a requirement of this position.

- Provides administrative support for the department Directors and Providers as requested.

- Contacts clients in response to their initial concerns, providing Directors or others with information to resolve concerns. Create database to track and document interactions and resolution of issues.

- Build, maintain, and optimize complex data models that track multiple data points such as client status and compliance, Medical Services and nursing compliance, policies and processes, historical volume data to forecast future capacity needs for multiple states.

- Receive, sorts analyze and summarize material for the preparation of reports; maintains confidential internal departmental records.

- Prepares advanced word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation documents as assigned.

- Interact with multiple interdepartmental associates, supporting the departmental standards of courtesy, collaboration and professionalism.

Education and Background

Associate’s degree in healthcare management, business analytics or information management/analytics and 3 years of progressively responsible medical administrative experience. An equivalent combination of experience and training with certification which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may also be acceptable.

Experience

Highly skilled communicator, serving to communicate with clients clearly and compassionately. Timely, accurate documentation of all client interaction. Experience with and thorough knowledge of behavioral health or general medical office practices and procedures. Knowledge of licensing, DEA, HIPAA and confidentiality requirements, electronic health records, proficiency with MS Office Software programs including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint and other programs.

Ability to independently plan, organize and carry out work assignments; ability to analyze and prepare statistical and other reports, licensing tracking and competency certifications. Skilled communicator orally and in writing,

ability to maintain positive business relationships with other employees, agencies and with the public; ability to work with information that is both sensitive and confidential in nature; ability to review the work of others as assigned.
