Position Overview The primary responsibility of the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is to serve as a field-based medical expert within the Medical Affairs Organization and engage in mutual scientific exchange across European Union markets. The Field Medical team enhances the understanding of the scientific and medical value of uniQure 's gene therapy products with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), and other stakeholders to further patient outcomes. The MSL will act as a pan-European medical and scientific resource who supports the changing needs of healthcare professionals across multiple healthcare systems and regulatory environments. MSLs respond to customer enquiries to ensure focused and balanced clinical and scientific information that supports the appropriate use of uniQure 's products. This position reports to the Executive Director, Field Medical. The role carries responsibility for scientific engagement across all designated EU markets and will require significant international travel, anticipated at 50โ€“60%. The successful candidate will be comfortable navigating diverse national healthcare systems, reimbursement environments, and country-specific industry codes, all within the overarching EFPIA framework. Key result areas (major duties, accountabilities and responsibilities) The responsibilities of this role are organized into five functional areas: Scientific Engagement & KOL Relations - Demonstrate deep scientific expertise on uniQure 's gene therapy products and therapeutic areas to exchange relevant information and insights with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) across the assigned EU territory. - Build, cultivate and maintain a focused network of KOLs across the EU โ€” including leading clinicians, academic researchers and hospital specialists โ€” to ensure understanding of evolving healthcare trends across the relevant therapeutic area landscape. - Identify, establish and maintain collaborative relationships with key experts, investigators and institutions, including university hospitals and pan-European patient advocacy organizations. - Represent the Medical Affairs team at scientific conferences, medical congresses, continuing medical education events, advisory boards, regional meetings and patient advocacy events across Europe, gathering relevant insights and supporting educational opportunities. - Identify and communicate key clinical and research issues and insights gathered across EU markets to appropriate departments to help shape company research, development and strategies for investigational and commercialized products. Clinical & Research Support - Assist, upon request from Clinical Development, with clinical studies including investigator and site identification, site initiation visits, and feedback regarding operational management to ensure optimal site selection and performance across EU territories. - Respond to unsolicited requests for medical information, research support and educational resources associated with uniQure 's products and disease state areas across EU markets, ensuring all responses are compliant and balanced. - Respond to unsolicited requests regarding interest in Investigator Sponsored Studies (ISS) and support ISS submissions through appropriate internal processes, navigating country-specific submission requiremen
