About Echo Base
Echo Base is a privately-funded, evergreen special situations platform focused on acquiring, stabilizing and repositioning companies across the digital asset ecosystem. The firm combines distressed investing expertise with deep operating capability, allowing it to intervene in environments where both the capital structure and the operating business require rapid, coordinated action.
Echo Base evaluates opportunities through a technical lens, prioritizing situations where operational control, structured capital or strategic leadership can restore stability and create long-term strategic value. The platform is built to act decisively in moments of disruption, partnering with stakeholders to deliver clarity, governance, liquidity and operational execution.
Role Overview
The Manager, IT Operations will be Echo Base’s internal technology owner. This hands-on role will run the firm’s corporate IT environment and selected web properties, with responsibility for reliable operations, access, security hygiene and sound technical judgment in a fast paced environment.
The ideal candidate is comfortable operating with the breadth and discretion: practical rather than theoretical, security-conscious and able to turn ambiguous issues into clear priorities. In the first 90 days, they will map critical infrastructure and website dependencies, establish operating routines and close priority access, backup, monitoring and release-process gaps.
What You’ll Do
- Own the firm’s technology operating model: systems inventory, access standards, vendor relationships, core IT roadmap and disciplined operating routines.
- Administer Google Workspace, user lifecycle, groups, access controls, endpoints, SaaS applications and core security settings.
- Maintain AWS access, monitoring, backup checks and routine operations; engage specialist engineers for material architecture or security work.
- Administer Cloudflare DNS, CDN, SSL/TLS, WAF, redirects, domain configuration and incident troubleshooting.
- Own the day-to-day operation of internal AI tools and agentic workflows, including integrations, access controls, monitoring, documentation and lifecycle management.
- Own the corporate website end-to-end: implement content, configuration, CMS and light front-end changes directly; manage releases, hosting, testing, change control and rollback procedures.
- Manage domains, certificate renewals, asset records, endpoint procurement and access inventories.
- Provide practical, high-trust IT support for employees, including devices, accounts, connectivity and common software issues.
- Maintain access reviews, patching, backups, security hygiene and incident procedures; escalate material risks promptly and appropriately.
- Act as the first technology point of contact for everyone; maintain clear runbooks, system maps and decision records.
What We’re Looking For
- Five or more years of relevant experience in IT operations, technical operations, cloud or infrastructure support, or an internal IT ownership role.
- Demonstrated experience acting as the primary technology owner in a lean, high-trust environment such as an investment firm, crypto company, fintech, startup, family office, or professional-services firm.
- Hands-on experience with Google Workspace, AWS fundamentals, Cloudflare, DNS, SSL/TLS, identity and access management, endpoint management and SaaS administration.
- Experience operating production websites, including hosting, CMS or deployment workflows, release coordination, testing and rollback.
- Strong security and access-control judgment, including a practical approach to least privilege, backup verification, vendor risk and incident response.
- Sound troubleshooting judgment: gathers evidence, limits impact, communicates clearly and avoids unsafe production changes.
- Comfort working independently with executives, employees, vendors and specialist engineers; exceptional documentation habits and professional English ar
