We are established travel and lifestyle content creators with nearly 1 million combined subscribers and followers across multiple platforms. We are hiring a full-time long-form YouTube editor for our creator-led travel, RV, van-life, outdoor, and adventure channel.

Our finished videos are generally 20–45 minutes long. We need an experienced editor who can turn several hours of raw footage into a compelling, story-driven YouTube video—not simply arrange clips in chronological order.

This position is focused on long-form YouTube content, not Shorts, Reels, podcasts, gaming videos, or corporate content.

ABOUT THE EDITING STYLE

A strong style reference for this position is Trent the Traveler.

Before applying, watch several of his long-form YouTube videos and become familiar with his storytelling, pacing, dialogue editing, music selection, sound design, scenic sequences, humor, and emotional timing.

We need an editor who can:

• Find the strongest story within several hours of raw footage

• Create compelling openings that immediately build curiosity

• Structure each video with a clear beginning, middle, and end

• Edit natural conversations without making them feel rushed

• Remove repetitive, unnecessary, or weak footage

• Use music, sound effects, B-roll, and scenic footage effectively

• Build anticipation and maintain viewer interest

• Know when an edit should move quickly and when a ---------- nt should breathe

• Turn everyday travel experiences into entertaining long-form stories

ENGLISH FLUENCY IS REQUIRED

You must be highly fluent in spoken and written English.

Our videos include natural conversations, humor, sarcasm, reactions, emotional ---------- nts, and storylines that develop throughout the footage. You must understand the dialogue, tone, and context well enough to make strong decisions about pacing, cuts, music, and emotional timing.

THE ROLE

You will edit complete 20–45 minute YouTube videos from raw footage through final delivery.

You must be able to:

• Review several hours of raw footage and identify the strongest story

• Create a compelling opening and clear beginning, middle, and end

• Edit natural dialogue while preserving humor, emotion, and pacing

• Remove repetitive, unnecessary, or weak footage

• Use music, sound design, B-roll, scenic footage, and travel montages effectively

• Clean and mix audio and perform basic color correction

• Add text, maps, captions, and graphics when needed

• Follow editing notes, complete revisions accurately, and apply feedback consistently

• Meet deadlines, work independently, and communicate clearly

• Send a brief end-of-day email summarizing your progress and any questions

You must have proven experience editing long-form, creator-led travel, lifestyle, RV, van-life, outdoor, or adventure YouTube videos.

You must also have strong storytelling instincts, excellent attention to detail, reliable high-speed internet, a dependable editing computer, and availability for approximately 40 hours per week.

• Be at least 15 minutes long

• Be creator-led travel, lifestyle, RV, van-life, outdoor, or adventure videos

• Link directly to the actual published video

• Clearly demonstrate your long-form storytelling and editing ability

At least one must be a travel, RV, or van-life vlog with storytelling, pacing, and production quality similar to Trent the Traveler’s long-form videos.

For each video, include:

• The direct YouTube link

• The channel name

• The video runtime

• Whether you edited the entire video

• What you personally edited if anyone else was involved

DO NOT SEND:

• Portfolio websites

• Demo reels

• YouTube channel homepages

• Playlists

• Google Drive or Dropbox folders

• Short-form videos

• Links that require us to search for your work

We will only review the three direct video links you submit.

Applications without exactly three qualifying direct video links will not be reviewed.
