POSITION SUMMARY
The Leading the Dream Campaign Fellowship is a fellowship program for college students (sophomores, juniors, and seniors) who are passionate about social justice and energized to advocate for change in their communities. The program will provide fellows with training, coaching, and hands-on experience to grow their skills as organizers and leaders. Fellows will also have the opportunity to become part of a community of like-minded youth advocates and to become a part of the United We Dream Network. Fellows will be expected to fully engage with the training curriculum to build up their campaign and advocacy skills and to complete a set of assignments putting those skills into action. This is a remote, part-time position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Participate in weekly workshops throughout the 10 weeks of the program to grow your critical thinking skills, develop key campaign and organizing skills, and deepen your understanding of social justice advocacy and transformation.
- Build relationships with UWD members, student organizations and local interest groups, forging strategic partnerships to amplify the visibility of member campaigns and mobilize collective action.
- Participate in recurring trainings, meetings, check-ins, and one-on-ones with UWD staff, members, and partners to build and strengthen relationships, complete assignments as needed, and put your campaign skills into practice.
- Create trainings, presentations, method guides, reports, and other written materials as needed to train and build up the organizing capacity of diverse audiences, such as UWD members, staff, partner groups, and others.
- Provide coaching to UWD member-students and support them through identifying issue-based campaigns, the decision-makers that can address their problems, potential allies to recruit, and a set of tactics to push forward their demands.
- Complete assignments aimed at broadening your understanding of culture, politics and power, and exercises to place your campaign skills into practice in the real world.

- Deeply committed to United We Dream ’s mission and an ability to balance your burning passion for justice with a good sense of humor
- Experience with writing and briefing reports
- Excellent communication skills (written, oral, and interpersonal skills)
- Enjoys working with others and is a team player with the ability to integrate data and insights from, individuals and teams across various departments
- Ability to analyze and draw insights from data to synthesize and present the most important insights to senior-level and non-data people in an easy-to-understand way
