🏫🌸 We are seeking an ALT for a senior high school in Nagano city, Nagano, Japan.
Position Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree (required for visa eligibility)
• Ability to relocate to Nagano Prefecture
• Passion for inspiring young learners to enjoy learning English through fun, movement, and creative interaction
• Commitment to fulfill the contract period
•Experience teaching or working with young children
• TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certification
Preferred Qualifications:
• Conversational proficiency in Japanese
• Valid Japanese driver’s license or International Driving Permit (IDP)
Key Responsibilities:
• Co-teach and refine rigorous, university-preparatory English curricula in collaboration with Japanese Teachers of English (JTEs)
• Establish an intellectually stimulating environment that enhances students' logical thinking, academic writing, and advanced communication skills
• Cultivate global awareness and critical thinking by guiding students through the analysis and discussion of current affairs and academic topics
• Lead and coach students in high-level extracurricular programs, such as speech and debate competitions, essay contests, and academic English workshops
• Support the professional development of JTEs through advanced language coaching and cross-cultural insights to elevate overall instructional quality
Contract Period:
- October 2026 – March 2027
The contract may be renewed based on performance and availability.
Conditions of employment:
- Salary 2,470,000 yen –3,000,000 yen/year
Working days and hours:
- Monday to Friday 8:15 am - 4:45 pm (Break: 45-60 minutes) *Depending on school

What is a Haken position?
We hire ALTs and dispatch them to local schools.
Therefore, your employer is AtoZ, but the workplaces are the local schools.
