Corporate Business English Instructor – Shinjuku, Tokyo

Achievegoal is looking for a professional and dedicated Part-time Business English Instructor to provide one-on-one English lessons to Japanese working professionals at a corporate workplace in Shinjuku, Tokyo.

Those who work another job during the daytime are also welcomed. This position is ideal for individuals who have sufficient time and energy to comfortably commit to evening lessons after their daytime work.

Position Details

🕒 Part-Time | Monday–Friday, 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
4 hours of work per day
Short breaks, including restroom breaks, are available during working hours.

📍 Location: Shinjuku, Tokyo

🚆 Commuting: Must be able to commute to Shinjuku Station within 1 hour

📄 Visa sponsorship available for qualified applicants

💼 Start Date: Mid-September 2026

📚 Training & Handover: 3–5 days of paid training and preparation will be provided before the start of regular lessons.

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday

Applicants must be available to work all five weekdays (Monday through Friday). Availability for all five days is a mandatory requirement for this position.

Holidays

* Japanese national holidays
* New Year's holiday
* Approximately one week of summer vacation

Responsibilities

* Provide professional one-on-one English instruction to Japanese working professionals
* Teach two types of courses: Business English and Free Conversation
* In Business English lessons, help students develop their ability to participate in discussions and give presentations in English
* In Free Conversation lessons, provide flexible lessons based on each student's individual goals, interests, and needs
* Each lesson is 30 minutes per student
* Teach up to 7 students per day, depending on the number of bookings
* Adapt lessons to different students, as the student group changes approximately every three months when new students enroll
* Approximately half of the students typically continue their lessons from one term to the next
* Lessons are primarily conducted in person, although online lessons may also be provided when necessary

Requirements

* Currently residing in Japan and able to commute to Shinjuku Station within 1 hour
* Applicants currently living in Tokyo are preferred
* Applicants who already hold a Specialist in Humanities visa (Humanities visa) or Permanent Resident status are preferred
* College/university graduate, preferably with a degree in Education, English, Business, or a related field
* Proficient in English and Tagalog, both spoken and written
* Teaching License and/or TESOL certification preferred
* Minimum 2 years of experience teaching Business English or ESL (English as a Second Language)
* Experience teaching Japanese working professionals
* Responsible and punctual
* Able to identify students' needs and develop flexible lessons accordingly
* Friendly and enjoys communicating with students
* Enjoys working in a multicultural environment
* Japanese language ability is not required
