Full Stack Platform Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Full Stack Platform Engineer based in India.

We are looking for a technically strong Full Stack Platform Engineer to lead a small engineering team in building and maintaining scalable, high-quality applications. This remote contract opportunity combines hands-on software development with technical leadership and full lifecycle ownership, from solution design through deployment. You will work across backend and frontend technologies to develop secure APIs and event-driven architectures. The role also involves leveraging cloud-native services, strengthening DevOps practices, and integrating AI workflows into the software development lifecycle. You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align technical solutions with business needs. Accountabilities:

Lead and coordinate a small engineering team, encouraging accountability, collaboration, and high standards of technical quality.

Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications using backend and frontend technologies, including Java, Spring Boot, React, and Angular.

Architect and implement event-driven systems using technologies such as Apache Kafka.

Design, build, and maintain secure, high-performance APIs using REST and GraphQL.

Deploy and manage applications on cloud platforms, including Microsoft Azure and AWS, using cloud-native services.

Implement and improve DevOps practices, including continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), infrastructure management, and infrastructure as code.

Use containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes to support reliable application deployment.

Integrate AI workflows into development processes to improve engineering efficiency and software delivery.

Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to maintain clear communication and ensure technical solutions meet project objectives.

Requirements:

Strong proficiency in backend development, with practical experience in frontend technologies.

Experience designing and implementing event-driven architectures and developing robust APIs.

Knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, React, Angular, Apache Kafka, and REST or GraphQL APIs.

Proven experience deploying and managing applications on cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure and AWS; relevant cloud certifications are preferred.

Hands-on DevOps experience, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure management, and infrastructure as code.

Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud-native development practices.

Experience integrating AI workflows into software development processes.

Previous experience providing tactical leadership to a small engineering team.
