This is a high-ownership role for a finance professional who enjoys building structure, improving processes, and delivering accurate financial information to executive leadership. The position begins with a three-month contractor trial period, with the potential for a long-term engagement based on performance and business needs.
Why This Opportunity?

- Take ownership of a company's core accounting operations.

- Work directly with the CFO and executive leadership.

- Lead the transition from outsourced accounting to an internal finance function.

- Build and improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting.

Financial Reporting & Cash Management
- Prepare accurate monthly financial statements and management reports.

- Review of Profit & Loss statements and performance across business units.

- Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow.

- Provide timely financial information to the CFO and executive leadership.

- Identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues proactively.

Accounting Team & Compliance
- Supervise Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and bookkeeping activities.

- Review invoices, payroll, expense reports, and vendor payments.

- Coordinate payroll tax, sales tax, and year-end tax reporting activities.

- Ensure accounting practices follow company policies and financial controls.

- Handle sensitive financial information with the highest level of confidentiality and discretion.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience as a Financial Controller, Senior Accountant, Accounting Manager, or similar role.

- Proven experience with full ownership of the General Ledger (GL).

- High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential financial information.

- Advanced English proficiency (C1/C2) with strong written and verbal communication skills.

- Ability to work independently in a remote environment during U.S. business hours.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience transitioning an accounting function in-house or improving accounting processes.

- Experience with project accounting software such as BigTime or similar platforms.

- Experience within professional services, construction, architecture, engineering, or design firms.

- Experience in Luxury Architecture, Interior Design, or High-End Residential Design is highly desirable.

- CPA or equivalent accounting certification is a plus.
