English Teacher for Children: Kawasaki

Our School
Established in 2019 and located a few minutes from JR Kawasaki station, A-Star English School focuses on teaching English to children from 2 years to 18 years of age in class sizes of 1 to 8 students. We also provide English lesson to a number of pre-schools and kindergartens in Kawasaki and Yokohama.
We are currently seeking an enthusiastic English teacher who enjoys working with children of all ages and abilities.

Position: English Teacher for Children
Working Days and Hours:
4.5 Days a week, 36 hours
Saturday and Sunday, 8:30-17:00 (45-minute break)
Monday and Tuesday, 11:00-20:00 (60-minute break)
Friday,15:00-19:00
Regular days off: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday Morning and the 29th, 30th and 31st of every month.
We are looking for candidates who can start as soon as possible, preferably no later than November of 2026.
Training will be provided from the start date through until the end of December with the successful candidate taking on full teaching responsibilities from January of 2026.

Position Duties
To assist our lead teachers in our parent and child English classes for children of two to three years of age.
Lead English teacher for conversation and phonics classes for students of 3 to 16 years of age.
Eiken test preparation lessons for student of 8 to 18 years of age.
The teacher will be required to teach between 2 and 4 lessons of 50 or 60 minutes in a standard working day.
Creating lesson plans to meet the goals of our curriculum.
Conducting of student assessments.
Conducting of open lessons for the recruitment of new students to our school.
Assist with the day-to-day duties of the school running.
Material production.

The ideal candidate
An individual with a good understanding of children and can think from a child's point of view.
A serious and dedicated employee with a strong sense of responsibility.
A good communicator and a quick learner.
An individual who wishes to be part of a long-term project and help us grow our school.
Experience teaching English to young learners is preferred but is not essential.

Benefits and Remuneration
Salary: 260,000-285,000 depending on experience.
Bonuses: Contract completion and achievement bonuses will form part of the contract.
Commutation cost reimbursement.
Enrollment in social security and health insurance programs.
Leave: 10 paid days of leave on completion of six months of employment.
Visa sponsorship is available.
Once management are satisfied with the employee, remote work for lesson planning and preparation may be included in the teacher’s weekly schedule.
