Director, Product Management (Security)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Product Management (Security) based in the United States.

This is a hands-on product leadership role focused on turning an early security product concept into a validated, scalable business.
You will own the journey from market thesis and customer discovery through product development, commercialization, and revenue generation.
Working closely with Engineering and customers, you will translate real-world problems into prototypes, requirements, product decisions, and solutions that can scale.
The role offers substantial autonomy, with direct visibility to executive leadership and significant influence over product direction and go-to-market strategy.
You will help establish who the target buyer is, what they value, what they will pay for, and which opportunities the product should deliberately pursue or avoid.
This is an ideal environment for a product leader who enjoys ambiguity, experimentation, technical problem-solving, and building from an early stage.
The position is fully remote within the United States and combines strategic product ownership with hands-on execution.

Accountabilities

Own the product strategy and market thesis, including identifying target buyers, validating customer problems, understanding willingness to pay, and defining the product's strategic boundaries.

Lead the evolution of an early proof of concept into a reliable product capable of supporting multiple paying customers.

Work directly with Engineering on product development, including epics, requirements, prototypes, specifications, technical tradeoffs, and implementation decisions.

Engage directly with customers and prospects to validate problems, test assumptions, gather feedback, and determine whether identified needs represent commercially viable opportunities.

Define and refine the go-to-market approach, including positioning, packaging, pricing input, customer segmentation, and the path from pilot engagements to recurring revenue.

Build practical product processes and decision frameworks that support rapid learning and effective execution without introducing unnecessary bureaucracy.

Personally contribute to prototypes, product specifications, research, and implementation details when hands-on involvement is the fastest way to validate an idea or solve a problem.

Work collaboratively with Engineering and other stakeholders to balance customer needs, technical feasibility, product quality, and commercial potential.

Use data, customer evidence, experimentation, and emerging technologies to continuously assess what is working, what is not, and where the product strategy should evolve.

Communicate product progress, market findings, risks, opportunities, and key decisions directly to executive leadership.

Develop the foundation for a scalable product organization and commercial motion as the business and customer base grow.

Incorporate AI tools and capabilities into product discovery, analysis, experimentation, and problem-solving as appropriate.

Requirements

Proven experience building and launching products in a zero-to-one or early-stage environment , rather than exclusively managing mature products.

Demonstrated ability to work directly with customers to validate whether a problem is meaningful, urgent, and valuable enough to support a commercial product.

Strong product management experience spanning discovery, strategy, requirements, prototyping, development, launch, and iteration.

Technical fluency and willingness to engage directly with Engineering, including writing or reviewing specifications, defining epics, evaluating technical tradeoffs, and participating in prototype development.
