General Description:

The Director, FP&A will be primarily responsible for partnering with Global Enabling Functions (Finance, HR, Legal & Compliance, Corporate Affairs, etc.) for decision support, financial planning and analysis, business controlling including resource management (headcount, OPEX, CAPEX) and process optimization.

Reporting to the Senior Director, FP&A, this individual will support planning and budgeting processes such as the annual budget cycle, quarterly forecasts and long-range strategic planning. The candidate will play a key role in establishing clear transparency into business performance measurement, in combination with identifying resource efficiencies, optimization and trade-offs. The successful candidate should demonstrate the ability to influence as a strategic thought partner to bio-pharma/life science (or other high-growth industries) executives, led or supported optimizing global functional structure optimization (e.g. global business services or shared service centers) and business processes along with ad-hoc projects to support scenario analysis/decision making (e.g. make vs. buy, investment ROI/IRR).

Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential as the role will coordinate global planning, reporting and analysis across US, Europe, China and New Markets. The successful candidate will help drive improvements across the global Enabling Functions organization and partner with multiple senior level executives.

Essential Functions of the Job:
Lead Financial Planning Processes
- Direct the annual budget, quarterly forecasting, and long-range planning processes for Global Enabling Functions, ensuring alignment to corporate objectives, strategic priorities, and resource requirements.

Strategic Business Partner to Functional Leaders
- Serve as the primary finance partner to executive leaders across Finance, HR, Legal & Compliance, Corporate Affairs, and other enabling functions, providing financial insights that support strategic decision-making and investment prioritization.

Drive Resource Optimization
- Lead analysis and recommendations related to headcount, operating expenses, capital expenditures, organizational design, and productivity initiatives to maximize return on investment and operational effectiveness.

Deliver Performance Insights and Root-Cause Analysis
- Develop and communicate management reporting, key performance indicators, and business analytics that identify trends, risks, opportunities, and drivers of financial performance, enabling timely actions and informed decisions.

Support Strategic Initiatives and Scenario Analysis
- Lead financial evaluations and business case development for strategic initiatives, including scenario modeling, investment analyses, outsourcing decisions, and enterprise transformation opportunities.

Enhance Financial Processes and Systems
- Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and reporting enhancements that increase transparency, scalability, and decision-support capabilities across the global organization.

Coordinate Global Planning and Reporting
- Partner with regional and functional teams across the U.S., Europe, China, and emerging markets to drive consistent planning assumptions, reporting standards, and financial governance.
