Database Administrator- Production Support
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Database Administrator- Production Support based in United States.
This is a remote opportunity for an experienced database professional supporting mission-critical production environments in a government-focused technology setting. You will help ensure database availability, performance, security, and reliability across complex cloud and hybrid environments. The role combines hands-on database administration with data engineering, migration, modeling, and production troubleshooting. You’ll work with AWS, Databricks, SQL Server, and modern CI/CD and monitoring tools. The position also offers opportunities to influence technical standards, improve operational resilience, and contribute to data-driven solutions. Success requires strong analytical judgment, ownership, and the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams. Flexible scheduling and on-call support are part of the role to maintain reliable mission-critical services.
Accountabilities

Provide production support for mission-critical database environments, including shift-based coverage and on-call support, while maintaining high availability and resolving incidents promptly.

Monitor database performance, troubleshoot production issues, coordinate with development and operations teams, and restore services efficiently.

Conduct root-cause analysis of production defects and implement long-term improvements to database stability, performance, scalability, security, and maintainability.

Develop and maintain operating standards, database management policies, data administration practices, and quality-control processes.

Define, manage, and coordinate data elements and standards while supporting efficient data relationships, systems integration, and physical database structures.

Collaborate with Product Owners, users, agency leaders, and other stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

Design and document complex workflows, data models, mappings, data flows, data marts, and technical implementation approaches.

Develop and maintain SQL Server database objects, including stored procedures, jobs, views, tables, and related components.

Design scalable Databricks lakehouse data models across bronze, silver, and gold layers, including dimensional models, fact and dimension tables, and curated data products.

Develop and deploy ETL packages through CI/CD pipelines and support configuration management and version-control practices.

Perform data validation, ensure data accuracy and integrity, and participate in peer reviews of technical implementations.

Analyze and interpret large datasets, identify patterns and relationships, and develop visualizations, dashboards, reports, and KPIs to support business and program decisions.

Support database migrations from legacy on-premises environments to multi-cloud and hybrid-cloud platforms.

Configure and maintain monitoring through Splunk, including log indexing, dashboards, alerts, and reports.

Work within an Agile delivery model, participating in daily scrums, sprint planning, Program Increment planning, and related development activities.
Requirements

7+ years of experience in database administration, database maintenance, database analysis, or a closely related role.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline; equivalent professional experience may be considered.

Proven experience supporting production database systems, including on-call responsibilities and flexible work schedules when required.

Strong experience with AWS database technologies, including Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL and other AWS-managed database services.

Experience with Databricks and exposure to AWS cloud environments.

Experience installing, configuring, administering, and maintaining database environments.

Strong understanding of data warehouse concepts, data modeling, data mapping, data flow diagrams, and data marts.

Experience architecting and implementing cloud-based database solutions and migrating data from legacy on-premises systems to cloud or hybrid-cloud platforms.

Demonstrated ability to work with SQL Server Management Studio and develop database objects such as stored procedures, views, tables, and jobs.

Strong analytical, technical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities, with experience working through complex data and production issues.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities and deliver work on schedule.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document technical ideas, implementation plans, workflows, and status updates for diverse audiences.

Ability to work independently, take ownership of complex assignments, and collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Familiarity with Agile development practices and tools such as the Atlassian software development suite.

Preferred: AWS, database, or cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Database – Specialty, AWS Solutions Architect Associate/Professional, or comparable credentials.

Preferred: Experience creating database reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.

Preferred: Knowledge of court operations and law-enforcement-related business data.

Ability and willingness to provide on-call support and/or work a flexible schedule as operational requirements dictate.

Salary: Estimated range of $111,155–$150,385 , depending on experience, geographic location, and applicable contractual considerations.
