About Us:

OncoveryCare is an early-stage virtual healthcare company committed to fundamentally rethinking and transforming the landscape of physical and mental healthcare for cancer survivors. Our team is composed of cancer survivors, clinicians, and experts in cutting-edge healthcare delivery. We believe that world class care after a cancer diagnosis shouldn’t end when treatment is over, and we provide an innovative, evidence-based approach to deliver patient-centered, whole-person support for survivors throughout the cancer journey.

Our vision is a world where living beyond cancer isn’t just “surviving”—it’s thriving.

A few tidbits about cancer survivorship:

- There are over 18 million cancer survivors in the United States today—and that number is expected to grow to 26 million by 2040

- Cancer survivors experience a range of physical and mental health side effects from treatment

- Survivorship starts at the moment of diagnosis and continues post-treatment—we are starting in the “transitions of care” phase post-treatment, when there is often not a specialized team to take over caring for the survivor moving forward

Our Guiding Principles:

-
By survivors, for survivors: We build the survivor voice and experience into all that we do

-
Clinical integrity and rigor: We prioritize evidence-based approaches and an integrated team to deliver the highest-quality care

-
Trauma-informed care: We “meet survivors where they are” and respect their lived experience

-
Changing the status quo: We are committed to radically reinventing how cancer survivorship care is designed, delivered, and experienced

-
Transparency & inclusivity: Building a new frontier of cancer care is both hard and rewarding—everyone has a role to play, and fostering a positive and open team culture is our priority

About the Role:

OncoveryCare uses a novel Collaborative Care Model (CoCM) to integrate psychiatric expertise directly into survivorship care, so that our multidisciplinary team—survivorship MDs, NPs, and behavioral health clinicians—can identify and treat common mental health conditions earlier and more effectively. As our Consulting Psychiatrist , you will be a core part of this model: providing systematic, registry-based caseload review, advising our treating providers on evidence-based medication and treatment strategies, and building the clinical judgment of our team so that more survivors get access to behavioral health support.

Candidates must hold an active, unrestricted psychiatric license and board certification. Licensure in New York is preferred.
What You’ll Do:

-
Structured Case Review (SCR): Meet weekly with our Behavioral Health Clinician(s) to systematically review a registry of patients, prioritizing those who are new to the caseload, clinically complex, or not improving as expected

-
Treatment Recommendations: Advise our survivorship medical providers on treatment strategies, tailored to the unique comorbidities and treatment histories of cancer survivors, including medication management when clinically indicated

-
Ad Hoc Consultation: Be available for occasional, timely consultation on complex or urgent patient situations flagged by the care team

-
Team Education: Deliver ongoing education to our behavioral health clinicians, NPs, and MDs on recognizing and managing psychiatric conditions common in cancer survivorship—treatment-related depression and anxiety, PTSD, cognitive changes, grief, and Fear of Cancer Recurrence

-
Documentation: Document consultation recommendations in OncoveryCare 's registry/EMR in a timely manner, consistent with CoCM documentation standards

How You’ll Thrive:

-
Within the first 90 days, you will onboard with our clinical leadership and care team, become familiar with OncoveryCare 's registry and documentation tools, and begin conducting structured case reviews with our behavioral health clinician(s).

-
Within the first year, you will have established a stron
